A Creatin' Frenzy!!!

Hey yall! Well, as you know, I've been busy busy! I haven't had much time to sit down and scrap. So Mom and I took advantage of free time yesterday and got our scrap on! LOL. I got 5 LO's done and she got 4 LO's done. It felt so good to scrap!!! Here is what I accomplished:

Me, Myself, And I
This layout is for a challenge on Treasured Scrapbooking where you had to scrap about yourself and list things about you. I made my own flowers for this one, which are faux Prima Lollipop flowers. These are so easy to make!!! I used some Jenni Bowlin Chalkboard alphas. Also, I used some bling, distressing, velvet trim, and pom pom trim.

Good Times
This is a layout of me and my good friend, Cristal. I did this for a challenge where you were to use lots of yellow. I do not use yellow too much, but this was a refreshing change for me. I like the yellow alot. I used my Cuttlebug for the butterfly. I also incorporated some bling, Thickers, and Memory Makers Tiny Alpha's.

Best Pals
This layout is of me and my very best friend, my Mom. I did this layout for a challenge on Just Scrappin' where you were to create a poem and use it on you layout. I will be the first one to admit, I am not known for my writing skills! LOL. But I did try. I wrote my poem on the tag and it reads:
" Mom I want you to know,
That our friendship will always continue to grow!
I treasure every moment that we share,
I hope you will always know that I care!
You mean everything to me,
And that is the way it will always be!"
I used some twine to tie a bow at the top of my tag. I also incorporated some flowers, buttons, bling, stitching, lace, distressing, and letter stickers.

I Have A Dream
I did this layout for a challenge where you were to scrap your dream job. My dream job is to be a bridal designer/bridal consultant. I used Wedding Solutions for the bridal gown and for the crown. I used Printing Press for the 'I have a' and Home Accents for the 'dream.' I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder for the dress. I added Stickles to the dress, crown, and title. Also, I added some delicate lace and pink velvet trim. The journaling reads:
"I have a dream of the perfect job for me! Of all the professions out there, the one that would be a perfect fit for me would be a bridal designer/consultant! I would be in heaven every single day surrounded by glamorous gowns and bridal accessories! To experience that special moment when a bride finds that perfect gown to walk down the aisle in. I remember that moment during my own bridal fitting. It was a moment that I will never forget! I remember the moment I looked at myself in the mirror. I truly felt beautiful! I turned to my mother and exclaimed..."I feel just like Princess Diana!" Would that not be so awesome? To help another bride-to-be create that special moment? It would be right up my alley and I could honestly say that I would look forward to going to work every single day! It would be my dream job! I know I would be good at it! So maybe, one day, my dream will become a reality!"

Risque'
This layout is of the 'Moulin Rouge' in Paris, France. We took a tour of the city during our visit there and Mom snapped this pic from the tour bus. We did stop there for like a minute and you had to option to go in and stay for a while, but we decided not to. I am using this for a challenge where you had to scrap with a postcard. So naturally, I used a 'Moulin Rouge' postcard. I used Mini Monograms for the alphas, which I glittered with Stickles glitter glue. I also used Mini Monograms for my scalloped rectangle shaped paper in the background. I stitched around the edge of the layout and then distressed. I also incorporated some ball fringe and a Paris Epoxy Sticker. Here it is:

Thanks for stopping by! I hope yall have a beautiful day! I will be gone until Thursday. Brandon and I are driving back to PA on Wednesday, so keep us in your prayers if you could. Thanks!
Big hugs!

How 'Tweet' Of You

Hey yall! This week at The Cuttlebug Spot, the challenge is to use Teabag folding in your project. I was intro'd to this technique about a year ago and I just love it! The possibilities really are endless and it is so easy to do!! For more info, go here:

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

Here is my card for this week. If yall do not know by now, I have a thing for peacocks! I love them! So I knew I had to try to make one using this technique. I chose a combo of green and purple patterned papers for this card. I rarely use the color purple, so I am trying to challenge myself to use it more. I used the Swiss Dots Embossing folder on my patterned papers for the 'feathers.' Then for even more dimension, I added some real peacock feathers behind the Teabag folded ones. I used the Birds and Swirls Embossing folder on my purple polka-dotted patterned paper. I also incorporated some stitching, ribbon, Stickles glitter glue (on the purple peacock), Memory Makers Tiny Alpha's, and distressing.

This is not the world's best picture, but it was the best I could get. If you will click on the picture, it will make it bigger and you will be able to see all the little details.

I hope yall will come on over to The Cuttlebug Spot and join us! This is so much fun to do! I promise!

As always, thanks for dropping by! Take care of yourselves and have a wonderful week!

Wild About You

Hey yall! How are you doing on this hot, sunny Saturday? Good I hope. My Mom and I are scrapping. At the request of my nephew, Carter, I made this dinosaur card. He has been wanting a dinosaur card for a long time, so I tackled that today. I used my new EK Success Dino Border punch on this one. I am in love with this little punch and I got it for $7 on sale at Michaels! These are the new space saving punches. I really like them and can't wait to get more. I also used a dino charm that Vicki from DIY sent me. I used Wild Card for the title, Paper Doll Dress Up for my dinosaur, and Storybook for my medallions. I used Swiss Dots and Spots-N-Dots on the medallions. I also incorporated some sheer lime green ribbon, Glossy Accents, and Stickles glitter glue. Here it is:

Thanks for stoppin' by! Take care and have a Dino-riffic day! ROFL

Take The Cake

Hey yall! This week at The Cuttlebug Spot, we have a yummy challenge! The challenge this week is called "Take The Cake." All you have to do is create a project with a cake or cupcake on it. I decided to make these 2 cake boxes. I cut each box out using the Cricut 'Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More' Cartridge. Then I decorated each of them. Here they are:

On this piece, I used the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch to mimic 'dripping icing.' I used my hot glue gun to bunch up the pink polka dotted ribbon at the top. I also incorporated some rhinestones on the top.

I used some pink pom pom trim around the outer edge. I LOVE pom pom trim! It is so fun to work with!

On the back, I used the Cuttlebug 'Distressed Stripes' embossing folder.

On this slice of 'cake' I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder around the edge on my patterned paper. I also used the Butterfly die/embossing folder combo for the butterfly on the top. I also incorporated some sheer ribbon, rhinestones, and a flower.

On the back, I used some pink trim to mimic 'icing.' I tried to layer it a tad.

I had a blast making these for this week. Come on over to The Cuttlebug Spot and join us in this yummy challenge! I'd love to see your sweet creations!!!

As always, thanks for stopping by! Take care!

There was a whole lot of croppin' goin' on!

Hey yall! Well, my Mom and I cropped all weekend long! I tell ya, I am beat! I need to take a scrppy break for a few days! LOL. Here is what I got accomplished:

"Disney"
This LO was for a 'oversized embellishment' challenge. I used Home Decor for my oversized flower and bee's. I covered my bee's with glossy accents and gold stickles. I was going for a yellow/black/white color scheme. I've never used these colors on a LO, but I think I like 'em. LOL. I also incorporated some ribbon and buttons. Here is this one:

"Strangers In The Box"
This LO was done for a 'dated' challenge. You had to use an old photo in your LO. While digging through old family photo's, I came across this photo from the late 1800's. I know this is family on my Daddy's side, but we have no clue as to their names. We could only guess. So seeing this made me think of a poem I saw posted on a message board. I just knew I had to use it. I used Storybook for the lettering and Happily Ever After for my roses. Here it is:

The poem reads:
Come, look with me inside this drawer
In this box I've often seen
At the pictures, black and white
Faces proud, still and serene.
I wish I knew the people
These strangers in the box
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among the socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone would have taken time,
To tell who, what, and when,
Those faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away.
Make time to save your pictures
Seize the opportunity when it knocks
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

"Happy Easter"
I did this card for a Easter Card challenge. I couldn't resist using my Mom's 'chick' stamp. It is so cute!!!

Here is another card I did for a challenge. You had to use the colors brown and beige. Then you could add one other color of your choice, I chose blue.

"The Apple Does Not Fall Far From The Tree"
I did this LO for a spring themed challenge. When I think of spring, I think of trees and fruits in bloom. Also this pic was taken during a spring trip to the zoo. I used Cuttin' Up for the lettering, which is not showing up too well through the photo I took. But it is more noticeable in person. I used Home Accents for my apple and Stretch Your Imagination for my tree. I added some stickles to my tree top. I also incorporated some buttons. Here is this one:

Well that is all I got done on Sunday. I'm tired! LOL. Thanks for stoppin' by! Take care!

Easter Bags and Baskets

Happy Easter Yall! This week at The Cuttlebug Spot we are celebrating Easter by making fun bags and baskets. I chose to make this Easter Basket Centerpiece for my Mom's Bistro table. I cut my box out using the Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More Cricut Cartridge. It is the 'popcorn' box. I then added some florists foam inside. This allowed me to position my twigs in the way I wanted them. I then took squares of green tissue paper and started forming my grass. This was very easy. I just bunched it up and secured each into place with a glue dot. Next, I cut out my Easter Eggs. I used the following Cuttlebug Embossing folders for my eggs: Spots-N-Dots, D'Vine Swirl, Birds and Swirls, and Floral Fantasy. I attached these to the top of a few of the twigs using glue dots. I then used my Cuttlebug to cut out 2 butterflies to perch on the 'grass.' Next, I added some pink pom-pom trim and pink checkered ribbon around my box. I also added a cute little bunny, which was cut using the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I embossed the bunny using Swiss Dots and also added some pink Stickles glitter glue. This was a very easy and fun project to create. Here it is:

Still Just A Croppin'

Hey yall! Well, me and Mom are still at it. We each just finished some cards. Please excuse the dark pix. It is dusk here and it was the best I could get. LOL.

This first one is mine. I watercolored the butterfly stamped image.

The inside of the card:

Here are my Mom's. She did this first one for one of my challenges where you had to use a frog on your project.

Then, Mom did this one for my scraplift challenge. She scraplifted the card above that I had done. I am in love with this color scheme of black, white, and yellow. Love it!!!

Thanks for lookin'!!! Take care!

Croppin The Day Away

Hey yall! Me and Mom are croppin' today. It's a slow go. We keep getting sidetracked. LOL. But way fun. Here is a card my Mom just did:

Here is a layout I just finished up called 'Improvise.' This is my best friend, Cristal's son Gage. We were outside one day while I was visiting and he got cold. As you can see, he improvised. Such a cutie! I had some white ball fringe, but it was just too stark. So I tea stained the ball fringe to give it a vintage feel. Cristal also sent me the journaling tag. I added some glossy accents to the title, which I cut with Printing Press. I also incorporated some buttons. Here it is:

Thanks for lookin'!!! I'm back to croppin'!

Sunny Saturday

Hey yall! How are you doing on this beautiful Saturday? Good I hope. I am online croppin' this weekend, but I wanted to share what I had got done the past few days. I am hosting 6 challenges and all of these are my examples to go with my challenges.

"All This And Heaven Too"
Bette Davis' birthday is this weekend. So since our crop was this weekend, I thought it would be fun to use one of her movie titles as your title on a layout. This layout is of my bro and SIL. I chose to mat the photo in lavender and use a lavender photo since this was the color of the bridesmaids dresses in their wedding.

"Precious Memories"
This layout is for a 'scavenger hunt' type of challenge. In the challenge, I required that you use the following in your layout: something pink, staple(s), brad(s), and some sort of trim. My background paper has the pink in it. I used staples to attach my tulle. Then I used brads in the center of my flowers.

"Grow Old With Me, The Best Is Yet To Be"
This was a scraplift challenge. The only requirement is for you to find something you like and scraplift it. I chose a layout from Memory Makers magazine to scraplift. I used staples on this one too. They are in the center of my leaves. I love using staples this way. It really adds a different look. This layout is of my parents. It took me forever to do this one. I used Wild Card for the tree and alphas. I used Accent Essentials for the leaves and scalloped circles.

Here is a close up of my tree:

"Thank You"
This card is for another challenge I am hosting. April is National Frog Month, so I required you to use a frog on your project. This frog is a die cut from The Scrapping Cottage.

"Happy Mothers Day"
This card is for another challenge I am hosting. All you had to do was create a Mother's Day card. I used Amy Butler papers and sticker embellishment for this one. I think I know who I might send this too. She is not a Mom to kids, but to one very lucky little Pug named Zoie. LOL. She adores Amy Butler stuff and I thought of her while I made this card.

"Happy Easter"
Last, this is for a 'Sneak Peep' challenge I did. You were to use the following on your project:

P-the color purple
E-embossing
E-eyelets
P-patterned paper

I also incorporated some more cupcake liner to this one. I think that is one of my new faves!! LOL

That's all for now. If you would like to join us for the online croppin' fun, do come on over to DIY. Have a wonderful day and as always, thanks for stopping by!!!
