My Big Brother Is Turning 28!!!

Hey yall! Happy Tuesday to ya! I wanted to take a minute to share a card I created yesterday with ya. I created this for a Helmar DT blog post. Our preferred partners for the week are My Stamp Box, Elle's Studio, and Upsy Daisy Designs. I had so much fun working with all of these products!
Here is my card for my brother. I used the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for adhering all of my paper, Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere my brown trim, and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to pop up my flower. I also pulled out my Martha Stewart punch around the page set to cut the shaped paper. This is a new toy and I love it!!! I also incorporated a bit of embossing and rhinestones. The patterned paper is from Upsy Daisy designs. The stamped image is from My Stamp Box and the die cut cards are from Elle's Studio. I just love anything Elle's Studio! It is always super duper cute!!!!
Just a little up close shot...

Thanks for stoppin' by today! Yall have a fabulous day and take care of yourselves!

Celebrating the 4th at The Cuttlebug Spot

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Enjoying a good day so far? I hope so! As for me, doing great with no plans except scrappin'. But first, I wanted to blog about our challenge this week at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are celebrating the 4th of July. Well, I knew when I saw this challenge what I wanted to do. I was inspired last week by one of my fellow Helmar DT Members, Cathy. She created this gorgeous card, which you can view HERE. Isn't it so festive and lovely?! Leave her some luv if ya want.
Here is my card that was inspired by Cathy....of course, another easel card, my fave! Giggle! I started with some Coredinations cardstock for the blue portion of the flag. I embossed it with the 'Stars' embossing folder. I then sanded over it so that the embossing would show up a bit better. Next, I took strips of red and white cardstock and tore one edge of each. I embossed the red strips with the 'Victoria' embossing folder and the white strips with the 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder. I adhered all of that using the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner. I then created some lollipop flowers with leftover Coredinations cardstock and patterned paper. I made the brads for each center with my Imaginisce I-Top brad maker tool. I popped these up a tad for dimension using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. Next, I added some patriotic themed paper to the inside and buttons to keep the card open. I adhered the buttons with Helmar 450 Quick Dry. Last, I pulled out my Imaginisce I-Rock tool and used it to add the silver metal studs to the card. I am totally loving this new tool! It is just neato!!

Here is a close up of the flowers....

If you can, hop on over to The Cuttlebug Spot this week to check out the other DT's creations. I am sure you will be inspired!!!

I hope you all have a fabulous week and Happy 4th of July!!!! Happy Scrappin'!

God Bless America!!!

Havin' A Blast

Hey guys! TGIF!!! Are we ready for the weekend?! Oh yeah! I know I am! I am not sure if Brandon and I are doing anything, but the weekend is always so fun! I hope we can at least go on a 'date' before buying groceries. Fun, fun, right?! LOL. I have a card that I created this week that I wanted to share with you today. This is another easel card....yall know how I love 'em! Just in case too, HERE is the link to a tutorial on creating easel cards. These are so easy and super fun to make! All of these patterned papers and embellishments are from Fancy Pants Designs. I believe the line is called 'Rusted Sun.'
Up close shot of the ribbon, ball fringe, and buttons. I adhered these embellishments with Helmar 450 Quick Dry. I used the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for the rest of the card.

Yall have a fabulous weekend!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy Scrappin'!!!

'Happy Birthday' Treat Bag

Hey guys! Happy Thursday to ya! I hope you are having a wonderful day so far! It is a bright, beautiful day here. I think the hubby and I may wash the car....so maybe I can get some color. I am as white as all get out! LOL. Today I have a little treat bag to share with you. I cut this bag out using my Cricut Expression and SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) software. The file I used can be found in the Summer Treat Bags set found at My Scrap Chick. Heads up....they are having a BIG sale right now! So if you've been eyeballin' any files, you might wanna treat yourself! This bag was so easy to cut and put together. I added some white cheddar popcorn to the inside. The paper and embellishments, with the exception of the pink satin ribbon, came from the June kit from Scrapbook Circle. I love the whimsical patterns and embellishments in this kit...all so cute! Here is my baggie...
The tag that I tied to the top is from The Girls Paperie.
To create this flower, I used the punches that go along with my Imaginisce I-Top Brad Maker. I then made my own brad for the center using the same tool. The 'happy birthday' stickers are also from The Girls Paperie. I attached the flower using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Thanks for droppin' in today! Have yourself a wonderful Thursday and take care of yourselves!

See ya tomorrow and Happy Scrappin' my crafty friends!

Tag! You're It!!!

Hey yall! Happy Monday to ya! I hope you are having a great day so far! It's a brand new week and that always means a new challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot! This week at CBS we are creating tags using our Cuttlebug! I was so excited to see this challenge because I have not made a tag in ages...like over a year I reckon'! LOL. So, I decided to make not one, but two tags for this challenge.
Now, I have to tell ya....this past weekend I received a big box full of goodies from Imaginisce. I was so giddy...you should of seen me! Brandon was laughing! Anywho, inside the box was some super cute paper and embellishments from the 'Splash Dance' line and I knew I had to use them on my tags. Here are the two tags I created....(if you want, you can click on the picture to make it bigger so you can see). I used the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner on these. I also added a combination of funky fiber for the tops....another item laying in my scrappy stash that has not been used in forever. I'm so glad I pulled it out and used some!
For this first tag, I wanted some of it to be clear so that you could see through it. So, I first pulled out my Purple Cows laminator and laminated a 6x6 hot pocket. I then put this laminated pocket onto my Cricut mat and cut out my tag. Next, I ran this tag through the Cuttlebug using the 'Tiny Bubbles' embossing folder. I then cut two more of the same tag out using some solid cardstock and some super cute patterned paper. I cut the solid cardstock tag into two pieces. I then pulled out my new punch, the Martha Stewart punch-around-the-page set in 'Double Loops.' I have been eyeballing this punch for months and was so glad when the hubby picked it up for me at Michaels. I took the bottom portion of the solid cardstock tag that had been cut into two pieces and tore it. I adhered it to the back of the clear tag. Next, I took the patterned paper tag, and tore it along the bottom too. I adhered that onto the top of the clear tag. Here's an upclose of the tag so you can see what I mean....
Here is an upclose view of the top portion of the tag where I used the MS punch I mentioned above. I added some pearls from Queen & Company to jazz up the punching a bit more. This ribbon is also from Imaginisce.
For this tag, I also made a fan folded flower. I found the tutorial for this on Splitcoast Stampers. I added a 'sticker puff', also from the Imaginisce 'Splash Dance' line. I adhered this flower to my tag using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots....these are SO AWESOME! If you haven't picked any up, I'm tellin' ya, you gotta do so! They rock!
Here is the second tag I made. For this tag, I used the leftover scraps I had from the first tag. I used the 'Tiny Bubbles' and 'D'Vine Swirl' embossing folders. I incorporated 2 more cute stickers from the 'Splash Dance' line. Also, I got to play with another new toy that came in the Imaginisce box....the new 'I Rock' tool!!!! I used it to add the rhinestones to the embossing at the top portion of the tag. This tool is so cool and fun to use!!!

Be sure to hop on over to CBS to see the other DT's fabulous tags!

As always, thanks for stoppin' by my blog! I hope you have a fabulous week and Happy Scrappin'! See you soon!

IASC Blog Hop!!!

Hey yall! TGIF! The weekend is here and what better way to start it off than with a blog hop?!!! Yay! IASC, aka 'In A Scrap Creations', is hosting a blog hop! If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, visit the IASC blog HERE. This is a 'Fathers Day' themed hop and each DT member will be sharing a special project for dad on their blog.
For my project, I decided to make a card. I do not own too many manly looking embellishments, stamps, papers, etc., so I tried to go in a different direction with this card. I started with a cream colored cardstock base. I then added some red cardstock and embossed it with a Sizzix Texture Plate called 'Large Dots.' I also pulled some Jenni Bowlin chipboard buttons, die cut cards, and gold chipboard alphabet....again, all from my scrappy stash. I have been trying to use up a lot of my stash that I have had for some time. I am on a mission to use all that I can because I just have way too much stuff and not enough space to put it all in! LOL. Anyways, I also added some brown trim and rhinestones. Here is my card:
I love these die cuts. I inked the edges with some Colorbox Chalk Ink. The chipboard buttons are darlin' as well. I love the vintage feel they have. I tied some twine on the inside of the buttons.
Of course, what is a project without using my favorite Helmar Adhesives! I used the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for the majority of the card. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry for adhering my trim and Helmar Zap Dots to add dimension on my die cuts and chipboard. I adhered the chipboard buttons with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.
Up close of die cuts and buttons....

Now, on to the next blog in the hop...Melissa W. You can view her blog and project HERE.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Thank you, as always, for taking the time to stop by my blog! Take care of yourselves and Happy Scrappin'!!!!

Not Only Do I Scrap.....

But according to the hubby....I can cook! Tee Hee! Happy Hump day everyone! I hope you have had a fabulous day! I wanted to take a moment to blog this evening. I did not scrap all weekend due to the fact that I was just either busy or tired. But I did scrap today and will have some new stuff to share soon! In the meantime though, I wanted to share my other hobby....cooking. I tried out a new recipe tonite called 'White Chicken Parmigiano.' My hubby said it was one of the best things he had ever put in his mouth! I don't know if he says that just because he loves me or if it's true, but it just made my day!!! Here is what it looks like....(click on the pic to make it bigger...you will want to on this one...wink wink!)

Now, I know when I post food, yall usually want the recipe, so I wanted to share that as well. Now, this is definitely not a recipe for when you are watching the waistline, but splurge just once because it is DIVINE!!!! YUM!

No Fry White Chicken Parmigiano

Ingredients

4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast Halves (about 1 1/4 lbs.)

1 egg, slightly beaten

3/4 c. Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs

1/4 tsp. paprika

1 jar Creamy Alfredo Sauce (I used Bertoli)

1 medium tomato, chopped (I used one lg. Roma Tomato)

4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Dip chicken in egg, then bread crumbs combined with paprika, coating well. In 13x9 inch baking dish, arrange chicken.

Bake 20 minutes. Evenly pour 1 cup Alfredo sauce over chicken, then top with tomato and cheeses. Bake an additional 10 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Garnish, if desired with chopped fresh basil (I used just a sprinkle of dry basil) and ground black pepper. Serve with remaining sauce heated, and if desired, hot cooked pasta (I used linguine).

I hope yall will try this out and enjoy it as much as we did tonite. It was pure heaven!

Yall take care and have a wonderful rest of the week! Happy Scrappin'!

It's 'Clear' To See That I'm In Love!!!

Happy Saturday! Good Morning! I hope you are all enjoying a beautiful weekend so far! I have a new post going up on the Helmar USA Blog today featuring the card seen below. If you would like to read about it, go HERE. This was such a fun card to make!!! I also got to play with a lot of new goodies while making this one. I have explained how I made this one on the Helmar blog if you would like instructions. I hope you don't mind visiting the link....I guess I did not feel like typing it up twice. Tee Hee! Thanks! :)
Love these butterflies!!! They were cut from some Jillibean Soup patterned paper.
This velvet flower is from Maya Road, as is the chipboard alphabet. I spritzed the alphabet with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. The ribbon is from American Crafts. The rhinestones are from Queen & Co.

Yall have a fabulous day and Happy Scrappin'!!! See you soon!

Just Buggin' Out!!!

Happy Thursday yall!!!! I hope you are having a fabulous day so far! I was up bright and early this morning. I just could not sleep, so I got on up out of the bed and am so glad I did. I feel so energized and ready to go. I think Brandon and I are going to go out on a day date today...whoo hoo! But first, I wanted to hop online to make a blog post showcasing the June Add-On from Scrapbook Circle. Isn't it fabulous?!!! It is stuffed full of all sorts of Jenni Bowlin goodness.
Now, on to a tip to share with you. Have you ever found a gorgeous, 'to-die-for' sheet of patterned paper? It is just so beautiful, you almost hate to scrap over it because you do not want to cover it up. For me, this sheet of patterned paper is the Play Date shaped paper found in the add-on kit shown here:
Isn't it sweet?!!! I love it! Here is the layout I created using the paper. Everything you see with the exception of the stitching, rhinestones, American Crafts Thickers, and ribbon are all from the kit. I used the Helmar Quick-Fix Adhesive Runner to adhere all of my paper and Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere the ribbon. This is a layout of Carter. He is all boy and loves to capture bugs. Unfortunately, he usually decides to squash them after inspecting them. Poor Bugs! They never had a chance once they met Carter! LOL
Now, let me tell you about the tip. Pull out those craft knives and cut around the design. I like to cut on top of a glass mat. I find it is so much easier. I also used a metal ruler so that my cut lines are straight. After cutting around the design, I slid my photo underneath the 'rays' of sunshine. Last, I took some Helmar Zap Dots to pop up the 'rays'. I also curled the edges just a tad. I love the dimension it gives.
Up close of the journaling die cut that comes in the add-on kit. These are so cute!
Title work....

Thanks for stoppin' by today! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Happy Scrappin'!

Bliss-IASC DT Reveal

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday to ya! I hope you are enjoying a spectacular day! I wanted to hop online right quick to post a layout. I received a kit from In A Scrap Creations this past week that was filled with some super cute 'wedding' themed ribbon and buttons. So I sat down this past weekend and scrapped a page using the kit. I decided to scrap some photos of my in-laws on their wedding day. I used My Mind's Eye patterned papers, American Crafts Thickers, and added a bit of stitching. Then, the ribbon and buttons you see are from the kit. I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to adhere the ribbon and the buttons. I also used the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for adhering all of the paper. This is a super simple, super quick layout. I pulled this together in 30 minutes, which is a record for me. I am such a slow scrapper! LOL

Sketch Challenge At The Cuttlebug Spot

Good Morning to all you fabulous crafters! How was your weekend??? I hope you had a good one! Mine was kinda blah! The hubby had to work, so I spent most of the rainy, messy weekend in the house chillin'. I scrapped a bit on Saturday, but that was it. As some of you may know, I have a lot of problems with my right hand/wrist. I was in the colorguard (flag line) in the high school band and was also on the rifle line. Well one day during practice, I was doing a rifle toss and did not catch my rifle correctly. It fractured my thumb and I have had problems ever since. It just kills me that I can't work when I want to. But each time I pressed down on my trimmer or tried to hold something in my right hand, it was torture. So I am resting it a few days. It will get better...it is one of those things that comes and goes. Anyways, I'm looking forward to a better week! :)

Today is Monday and that always means that we have a new challenge for you at The Cuttlebug Spot. We are starting something new too! Each second week of the month we are going to have a sketch challenge and the sketch is provided by yours truly! I am so excited that Nilda asked me to do these. I haven't really had the chance to work on sketches much these past few months and I am so glad to be doing so. I love to create sketches! Here is the sketch for this week:
I haven't made a 'southern belle' card in a while, so I decided to do that with this challenge. I used Versamark ink and gold embossing powder for the stamped image. I also stamped the words 'charmed, I'm sure' (which is an old time southern saying) onto the card. I decided to dig into my scrap bin for this card. I pulled some leftover October Afternoon paper that I had from a previous kit. I incorporated a combination of red and yellow cardstock to match the patterned paper. I used the 'Victoria' Cuttlebug embossing folder on the strip of yellow cardstock.
Isn't she pretty? I love this image. I do not recall the maker of this stamp, but I believe it is a retired one. I found this on Ebay about a year ago.
Of course, what is a project without my favorite Helmar Adhesives!!! I used the Helmar Quick-Fix Adhesive Runner to adhere all of my paper. I used Helmar Zap Dots to form 2 levels of dimension, which you can see in the pic below. I also used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to adhere my flower.
This flower is from Prima Marketing, another leftover from a previous kit. Also, the ribbon, which I just adore, was a gift.

I hope you have enjoyed this card. Being such a big fan of anything old time and southern, I had so much fun making it. If you can, do hop on over to The Cuttlebug Spot to check out my fellow DT's projects. Also, join in on the challenge....we'd LOVE to have ya!

One more thing, I will choose the winner for my RAK before the day is out, so be sure to check back if you entered!!! Yall have a fabulous day! As always, thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy Scrappin'!

Scrapbook Circle June Layout #4: Batter Up! & A RAK!!!!

Hey guys! TGIF! I am so glad the weekend is here! Whoo Hoo! I am so happy that I thought I would host a little RAK (random act of kindness), but first, I want to share my 4th DT layout for Scrapbook Circle using the phenomenal June Kit!! This layout features patterned paper and die cuts from The Girls' Paperie, a journaling card from Elle's Studio, and rub-on's from Basic Grey....all which can be found in the June Kit. I also added a bit of stitching, pearls from Queen & Co., and American Crafts alphas from my personal scrappy stash. I used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in 'Fired Brick' for the edge of the shaped paper.
This is Carter during his first year of T-Ball. I was not at this game, but my Mom said when it was Carter's turn, he strolled up to home plate. He then looked at the lady that was standing there to show them what to do and said, 'I do my best.' ROFL! That child cracks me up!
Also, I used Helmar Adhesives for this page. I used the Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for the majority and Helmar Zap Dots to pop some of the die cuts seen below up a tad.
Now, on to the good stuff....the RAK! I have a sheet of journal stickers from the Crate Paper 'Brook' Collection AND
a sheet of Jenni Bowlin Multi Dotted Label Stickers that I would like to give away!!!!

If you would like to be entered in the RAK, simply leave me a comment on this post. If you could, please leave me your blog addy or some way that I can contact you if you are chosen as the winner. I will choose a winner on Monday, June 7th. I will put all of the people who leave a comment into a random number generator at random.org to select the winner. Good luck!!!!

As always, thanks for stoppin' by my blog! Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Scrappin'!

Scrapbook Circle June Layout #3: Momaw & Me

Hey yall! Happy Thursday! Only one more day until the weekend! Whoo hoo! I have another layout to share with you today. This layout is for my DT work using the June kit from Scrapbook Circle. This June kit is stocked with some spectacular goodies from The Girls' Paperie!!! I'm talking gorgeous papers, a huge pack of luscious die cuts, AND one awesome sticker book filled with alphas and other embellishment stickers!!! I just adore it all! This layout features patterned paper from The Girls' Paperie and October Afternoon.. The trim is from Pink Paislee. As always, I turned to my favorite Helmar Adhesives. I used the Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for the majority and Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere the Pink Paislee Trim. I also used some Zap Dots to pop up 2 of the circles for dimension.
This is a pic of my Mom and Carter spending a day at the zoo. I have some journaling on the tag that slides out from the right hand side of the picture. Also, if you will notice all of the little word stickers that I added to the blue shaped paper....those are included in The Girls' Paperie sticker book I mentioned. There are 2 full pages of nothing but these in the booklet, which is included in the kit!!!! I love these!
Both styles of these alphas are also included in The Girls' Paperie sticker booklet. I just love the distressed feel! So awesome!
Now, this Pink Paislee trim came to me in a cream color, but I wanted to jazz it up a tad. So I used some Pink Bubblegum Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. The pearls are from Queen & Co.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you all enjoy the day! Take care and Happy Scrappin'! See you tomorrow with one more DT LO for SBC!!!
