Celebrating Winter at The Cuttlebug Spot

Mornin'! How are you doing on this Monday? I am dragging today. I need some caffeine! LOL. But I am about to go and make me a Mocha Freeze and begin my day. First, I wanted to share a card with ya. This week at The Cuttlebug Spot we are creating Winter themed projects. Be sure to go on over and check out the other DT's fabulous projects and join in with us!!! We'd love to have ya! Here is the link for you:

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

This week I decided to pull out some of my stamps. I have so many stamps that I have never used. So one of my resolutions for the upcoming year is to use them. I decided to get a head start. It was fun to stamp again. I haven't stamped or embossed in months. I used the 'Tiny Bubbles/Birds and Swirls' embossing folders. I also brought in some burgundy tulle, green glittered brads, and a snowman charm. I used a Martha Stewart punch on the gold foil paper. I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in 'Fired Brick' on the 'Tiny Bubbles' embossing and in 'Peeled Paint' around the edge of the patterned paper. The patterned paper is also Martha Stewart. Here is the card...

That is all from me today. I want to thank you for stopping by today! Do come on over and join us at The Cuttlebug Spot for this challenge. I hope you have a wonderful week!! Happy Scrappin'!

'Roll Tide' Board Book

Hey yall! Happy Saturday!!!! I'm about to run out to Joann's to see if they have any goodies left. Mom and I wanted to go early this morning, but after staying up all night working, we just did not make it. So before I go, I wanted to post the board book I finished. This order is for the secretary at my Mom's school. She is such a sweet lady and I hope she will like the book. As you know, I am an Alabama girl. We are huge Alabama football fans in my family and have lots of friends who are the same. This book has 2 letters on each page. The top spells out a word and the bottom spells out a word. The words are 'Roll Tide.' This is what we Alabama fans say to root on our team. I had so much fun creating a sports board book. I would love to do this for other teams...just not Auburn! LOL. If I had to do an Auburn one (our biggest rival) I would have to charge extra just to look at all that blue and orange! Tee Hee! Anyways, I used my Inkscape to design this boardbook. I cut it using my SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) software and my Cricut.

Here is the outside of the book. I used my Bind It All to bind the book and tied an assortment of tulle, houndstooth, and red dot ribbon to the binding. I think this is my new favorite book that I have done. I just love how the colors pop off of each other. The houndstooth pattern is my fave! I also used a combo of Cuttlebug and Sizzix embossing folders on this.

Up close of the binding.

Here is the cheerleader on the front. She is a file from 'My Scrap Chick.'

Up close of page 1. The medallion shape is from Home Decor. I cut 'Go Bama' out in the same font I used on the book. This font is called 'College.'

Back of page 1 and front of page 2. I created the little banner using the pennant on Lyrical Letters.

Up close of football player. This is a file from 'My Scrap Chick' also.

Back of page 2 and front of page 3....

I printed off the fight song, 'Yea, Alabama' and added it to the book.

I created the file for the football helmet and the Alabama 'A' myself.

Back of page 3 and front of page 4....

Up close of 'Big Al' (the mascot for Alabama). I used a elephant file from 'My Scrap Chick' and altered it a bit to meet my needs.

Back of page 4 and front of page 5....

Up close of houndstooth hat. FYI...probably the most famous coach to ever coach at Alabama was Paul Bear Bryant. He always wore a houndstooth hat. I know a lot of people know this, but I thought I would tell you anyway. I still get some questions on it. I created the SVG file for this myself.

Back of book. I found this 'We've Got Spirit' title online somewhere. For the life of me, I cannot remember where. So if anyone recognizes this file, please do let me know so I can give proper credit for it.

I hope you have enjoyed this little book today. I know I sure had fun making it. Up next...I'll be finishing some more board book orders. I have a order in for a 'Mom' book that is to be decorated 'antique' and a 'Dad' book that is to be decorated in....guess what....'roosters'!!!! How fun will the roosters be! A nice change of pace. I will share those as soon as I get them done as well. Then after I finish those, I believe I will have all my board book orders finished for the time being. So back to layouts and cards. Whoo hoo!

Also, if anyone would like the files for this board book or any of the files that I created (the hat, the football, the helmet, the Alabama 'A')....please let me know and I will put those up for free on my SVG blog. :)

Yall have a fabulous day!!! As always, thank you for taking a moment to stop by my blog! Happy Scrappin'!

A Board Book For Bronner

Hey yall! Happy Friday! I hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving! As many of you know, I went home to AL last week to visit my family. I did not get too much scrapping done. I scrapped a lot, but only got a few things done. I spent a few days working on paper piecings for various books and then I worked on the board book for a lady who is having her first child, a boy named Bronner. I used Inkscape to design the book and SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot)/Cricut to cut the book. I used the 'Jungle Animal' files from 'My Scrap Chick' for the various little animal critters. I just love the files from 'My Scrap Chick.' They are adorable!! I used the Distressed Stripes embossing folder for all of the photo mats. I used my Bind It All to bind the book and tied assorted ribbons on. Here is the book....(If you are having trouble seeing the pictures, click on them to make them bigger and then backspace to get back to the post.) (Also, excuse these pix. I was at my Mom's using her camera and they were the best I could get. :) )

Up close of all the pages in order....

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope to get a lot of scrappin' done this coming week, so I'll be sure to share!!!! Enjoy your weekend!

Hey yall! Happy Friday!!! I hope you are having a great day so far! I am visiting my family in AL. Mom and I have a whole weekend planned to do nothing but scrap!!! Yay! So hopefully I will have lots to share with ya! Today I wanted to share 2 cards I made using files from 'Cuts 2 Die 4.' Here is a link for ya...

http://www.cuts2die4.com/#/page/home/

First, I used the pilgrim hat cut to make a shaped card. The 'Give Thanks' title is also a Cuts 2 Die 4 file. I added Stickles glitter glue for some bling.

Next, I used a supe cute silhouette of a lady serving turkey. I used my Cuttlebug embossing machine on her. I used 'Victoria' on her body and 'Swiss Dots' on the turkey. The alphas are Pink Paislee. I addes some pearls from Kaisercraft. I'm not sure who makes this ribbon. My Mom gave it to me.

Thanks for taking a moment to stop by today!!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!! Oh, and if you haven't signed up for my RAK...please be sure to!!! I will announce a winner tomorrow!!! A Martha Stewart punch is up for grabs!!!! Happy Scrappin'!

The Dress

Hey everyone! How's it goin' today? I'm doing pretty good. I hope you are doing good too!!! I have a new layout to share with you today. This is a Cuts 2 Die 4 project. I used a 'southernbelle' silhouette that was a custom conversion for me from Cuts 2 Die 4. That is another great thing about Cuts 2 Die 4....send them an image and they can make you a custom SVG file for you to cut with your SCAL!! How awesome is that! I used the Cricut Home Decor' cartridge for the flourishes.

Up close of the custom cut...

I used SCAL for the word 'dress' also. This font is called 'Brock Script.'

So if you are looking for a custom SVG file....go here and let them know!

As always, I want to say a 'Thanks' to you for stopping by my blog today! Have a good one!!!

Now, as always, we have a fun new challenge for ya at The Cuttlebug Spot! If you are not familiar with The Cuttlebug Spot, we focus on using the Cuttlebug machine and embossing folders in our projects. It is one of my favorite blogs! There is always so much inspiration on there!!! If you would like to join us for this week's challenge, go here....

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

This week we are creating Thanksgiving projects. For my DT project, I created a Thanksgiving board book. I have been working on this book for months and am so glad I can finally share it with you. I designed it myself using Inkscape. I used SCAL 2 (Sure Cuts A Lot 2) and my Cricut Expression to cut it. I will be offering the SVG files for this complete project for free on my SVG blog. If you would like those, here is the link for you....

http://southernbellesvg.blogspot.com/

I used the following Cuttlebug embossing folders on this project:
1. Swiss Dots
2. Script
3. D'Vine Swirl
4. Mosaic Texture
5. Pumpkins
6. Autumn Type

I used Stickles glitter glue for some bling. I used the Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page combo set of punches in 'rings' for the borders around my photo mats. Here is the picture of what the board book I designed looks like in Inkscape....

Now, for the real thing. I just am in love with this book. It is my favorite board book I've done so far. I only wish yall could see it in person. I wanted the book to almost tell a story of Thanksgiving. The book opens with the word 'Thanks.' Then I added the Mayflower, Pilgrims, Native Americans, and a turkey. I used my Bind It All to bind the book. I added a combo of brown tulle and brown ribbon on the rings. Also, if you are curious, I cut the book out at 5" tall.

****NOTE: If you are having trouble seeing these images, if you will click on them, it will bring them up larger. Then just hit the 'back' button to come back to the post. :)

'Page 1'
I used some chipboard for the word 'give.' I embossed with Swiss Dots and used the aforementioned punch.

'Back of Page 1 and Front of Page 2'
I used some alphabet stickers from Making Memories for back of page one. Now, page 2 is my personal favorite in the book!!! I just love how the Mayflower came together. Of course, I had to add the rock to symbolize the pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock. I used D'Vine Swirl on the clouds and rock. Now, if you are going to undertake this project, this Mayflower will take some patience when piecing, but it's not too hard. It is just time consuming. I spent over 2 hours on it.

'Back of Page 2 and Front of Page 3'
Aren't those pilgrims so fun? I just giggled the whole time I was making this book.

I used the 'Mosaic Texture' embossing folder on these photo mats. I cut the word 'feast' out using my SCAL 2. This font is called 'Lauren Script'.

Up close of the pilgrims. These did take a bit of patience to piece, but not too bad. I think it took me about an hour and a half to piece them and add Stickles.

'Back of Page 3 and Front of Page 4'

I used the 'Script' embossing folder on these photo mats. The word 'family' was also cut with SCAL 2.

Up close of the Native Americans....now I will be honest, these were a bit harder to piece. I spent about 2 hours on them.

'Back of Page 4 and Front of Page 5'

I used the 'Pumpkin' embossing folder on these pages.

Up close of the turkey. The turkey was very easy to piece. I spent about 30 minutes on him.

Back of book...

I used the 'Autumn Type' embossing folder on these photo mats.

Whoo, I think that is all. Lots of pix today, huh?! LOL. But I wanted to share this one with yall. I hope you will like it. I sure enjoyed creating it. If you decide to give it a go, I hope you will have lots of fun with it! I'm here if you have any questions along the way!!! Feel free to drop me a line anytime!

As always, thanks for stopping by my blog! Don't forget to sign up for the RAK!!!!! Yall have a beautiful day and Happy Scrappin'!!!!!
