My Craft Spot Challenge #45-Birthday Shaped Cards

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? I had a great weekend! I got to spend some time with the hubby and work at my crafty desk! Good times! I hope all of you had a fun filled weekend!

It's Monday and that means another fun challenge for you guys at My Craft Spot! Yay! This weeks challenge is Birthday Shaped Cards. I just love shaped cards! They are so fun to create and a bit different from the norm. The possibilities are endless. If you would like to see my fellow DT's shaped cards and check out how you can enter the challenge, go HERE. Of course, there is a prize up for grabs! Woot Woot! So check it out! We'd love to see what you can come up with!

For my card this week, I made a shaped card in the shape of a dog house. I used my Cricut and Gypsy to create this card. Of course I also added in lots of goodies from My Craft Spot. Here is what I came up with...

"Another Birthday?"

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Bazzill Basics Paper, Core'dinations
Patterned Paper: Momenta
Stamps, Twine, Crinkle Ribbon: My Craft Spot
Rhinestones: Studio 18
Ink: Stampin' Up!
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Software: Cricut Gypsy
Cartridge: Create A Critter
Adhesive: Helmar, Zip Dry (Beacon Adhesives)
Other: craft knife, glass cutting mat
As you can see below, the front 'door' of my dog house opens so you can sneak a peek inside at the dog and sentiment. To open the door, I used my craft knife and a glass cutting mat. I cut very carefully around the door. The glass mat underneath helped my blade to glide a bit more smoothly.
I decorated around my door with some twine and rhinestones.
I used some pink crinkle ribbon to do a double bow on the top of my dog house.
For the inside, I stamped my sentiment using the 'Inside & Out #1' stamp set from My Craft Spot. I also added a little doggy. I just loved this dog! She's so cute! I gave her a bow with some bakers twine. I think I shall name her Pheobe. She just looks like a Pheobe to me! Tee hee!
I hope that you have enjoyed this project and that you will hop on over to My Craft Spot to join us in the challenge! See you there!

My First Dress!!!

Hey guys! Well, I had to share this! I am learning to make dog dresses for my Yorkie, Katie Scarlett. Now, I am not a seamstress by any means. I took a beginners sewing class a couple of weeks ago and bought a few supplies. I have sewn many times on paper with my scrapbooking projects, but not much with fabric. It kind of makes me nervous, but I am determined to learn!

I attempted my first dress last week, but lets just say it was pitiful! LOL! It wasn't even wearable! So with lots of help, I gave it a second try. Now, this one I am sharing now is not perfect. I made a few boo boo's, but I am learning. And at least this one is wearable! Tee hee!

I used this McCalls pattern. I chose to use the pattern to make a dress like the pink one shown here on the front...
I purchased this yellow fabric at JoAnn. I love yellow on Katie Scarlett. It looks so good with her darker fur. You'll have to excuse her messy hair. She was such a good girl and played all day long while Mommy sat at her sewing desk.
The back has a d-ring so I can attach a leash on this dress. It also has a fabric bow. I didn't even get to the fabric bow part on the first dress. LOL! So at least I made a little progress with this one. I need to work on keeping my stitches a little straighter, but I'm getting there.
Here is another view of the back...
Here is a view from the side. I wish the dress were a bit longer. I may work on that next time.
 She loves her new dressy!
So, what do you guys think? Is it ok? I sure did try! I have to admit...this sewing stuff is addictive!

Have a great night!

Sharing The Love With Momenta!!!

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! How are you doing on this beautiful day?!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had a pretty low-key weekend around here...mainly just hanging out around the house. Fun stuff though! Anyways, I have a couple of cards I'd like to share with you today. I am in the mood for love and I decided to share some love with a couple of cards! Of course, I had to turn to my trusty Momenta goodies to create! Here is what I came up with:

Momenta Supplies Used:
ST-4725 FTBM Clear Layered
ST-5151 Brea Pfy Borders
ST-3322 EMG VLM MSG

Other Supplies Used: cardstock, adhesive
The clear layered stickers from Momenta are some of my fave! I love the dimension they provide!
The border on the card, the chipboard message, and the border sticker all have a glittery effect to them.
For the inside, I used a vellum message sticker and another border sticker.
 "Love Birds"

Momenta Supplies Used:
ST-4765 FTBM Pfy Flourish
ST-4725 FTBM Clear Layered
ST-4761 FTBM Pfy Borders

Aren't the little love bird stickers so cute?!
More dimenson with Clear Layered Stickers!

Gettin' Scrappy Today...

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! I hope you all are having a fabulous day! Between doing loads of laundry, cleaning the house, and playing with the pup I managed to squeeze in a bit of scrapping today. I made 3 cards. I will share one of them with you today and the other 2 tomorrow. This first card celebrates my love of Yorkies.

"Hi" Card

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Core'dinations
Patterned Paper: Die Cuts With A View, The Paper Studio

Pearls, Rhinestones: Michael's
Punches: Marvy Uchida, Recollections
Ribbon: The Paper Studio
Electronic Cutter: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)

I made this Yorkie Silhouette svg myself. If you are a SCAL user, shoot me an email at aymee810@yahoo.com and I'll be glad to share the file with you!

 Inside of card...
I also jazzed up the envelope to coordinate with the card.

I'm In The Mood For Love

Hey y'all! How are you doing on this beautiful day?! I hope you are having a good one! February is here and it is the time for love! I am hosting the challenge this month over at Berry 71 Bleu and we would love for you to join us for this lovey dovey challenge! Of course there is a fabulous prize up for grabs! Be sure to check it out!!! You can find all the info by clicking HERE.

I thought I would share my project with you here on my own blog as well. I created an altered project to use as the example for the challenge. I altered a vintage muffin tin that I found at a local thrift store for a whopping 49 cents! You can't beat that! After bringing the tin home and cleaning it up, I almost put a fresh coat of paint on it. But then I saw all the age that the tin had aquired over years of loving use and I decided to leave it as is. I thought it would look more vintage that way. I then used varoius scrapbooking embellishments, as well as a gorgeous tag from Berry Bleu, to alter the tin up. I will be hanging this tin on my door for the month of February.

"My Love" Altered Mini Muffin Tin
Supplies Used
Tag, Lace, Flowers: Berry 71 Bleu
Buttons: Berry 71 Bleu, Jenni Bowlin Studio
Chipboard Buttons: Jenniw Bowlin Studio
Chipboard Alphabet: Making Memories
Rhinestones: Studio G
Trim: Ribbon FX (Hobby Lobby)
Adhesive: hot glue gun/glue sticks
Other: vintage mini muffin tin
Isn't this tag from Marivic beautiful? I just adore her tags! Be sure to check out the DT Call while you are stopped over at her blog! You could have the chance to work with these awesome handmade tags!
I've had these glittered chipboard alpha's in my scrappy stash for quite some time. I'm glad I found something to use them on.
I used some vintage pink lace to act as my hanging mechanism.
Up close of some of the goodies on the tag...
I filled each individual muffin tin insert with various buttons.
I hope you have enjoyed this project! Do hop on over to Berry Bleu and join us for this fun challenge! We'd love to see what you can come up with!

Oooh, and here is a pic of the prize!!! Woot woot!

So Excited!

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! Did you have a good day today? I sure hope so! We got a lot done around here today. Brandon and I cleaned out our outdoor shed that we store things in. I got rid of a lot of stuff and donated it to charity. I organized everything I could and now am happy to report that Brandon has more room for his tools. He can now go in there and do his man thing and tinker! LOL. We also washed and detailed my car. It looks so much better. Brandon also cleaned his truck a little. Katie Scarlett was outside with us the whole time in her playpen having a ball. It was such a beautiful day and I feel great getting some stuff accomplished!

BUT...had to share! The UPS man visted me today! He brought me my copies of the November 2011 Cricut Magazine that I had a project in! Yay! I hadn't seen it until today. I tried to find it in the stores but was unable to do so. I am just so excited and very thankful!!! I snapped some pix to share...
Here is a better pic of the project...
That's me! Yay! Such a blessing!
Anyways, I hope you all had a fabulous day! I'll be back tomorrow with some craftyness! Enjoy your evening and take care!

My Craft Spot Challenge #43-Valentine's Day

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Did you enjoy any Super Bowl parties? Tee hee! The hubby and I did a little Super Bowl fest at our house. We were alone so we just made some dip and vegged on the couch most of the day. It was a lot of fun! I really don't get into pro football like I do college football, but it was just nice to spend down time with him and our Katie Scarlett. I always enjoy those days!

Anyways, today we have another fun challenge for you at My Craft Spot. This weeks challenge is centered around Valentine's Day. To check out my fellow DT's projects and to see how you can play along go HERE. We would love to have you join us!

For my project this week I created a card. Here is what I came up with...

"It's Absolutely Puppy Love!"

Supplies Used
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Die Cuts With A View, Core'dinations
Patterned Paper: Jenni Bowlin Studio
Pre-Printed Card Base: Momenta
Stamps, Seam Binding, Twine: My Craft Spot
Clips, Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories
Ribbon: The Paper Studio
Ink, Pen: Stampin' Up!
Electronic Cutting Machine: Cricut Expression (Provo Craft)
Software: Sure Cuts A Lot (Craft Edge)
SVG's: Dog (Lettering Delights), 'Absolutely' (Designer Digitals)
Adhesive: Helmar
I stamped on the doggy and also on the seam binding on the front of my card.
I used pop dots to pop my doggy up a tad.
Aren't these little metal clips the cutest?! I just love them! I found them at a local discount store for $1.29 and knew I had to have them. They were actually what inspired the whole card.
For the inside, I did a mix of different things. The word "it's" was done with alphabet stickers. The word "absolutely" was cut using my Cricut and SCAL software. Both "puppy love" and "Happy Valentine's Day" are stamped on.
I hope you have enjoyed this card. Do hop on over to My Craft Spot and join us for this fun challenge!!! Happy Scrappin' to ya!
