Hiya guys! Happy Wednesday! I hope you have had a spectacular day today! I got up bright and early this morning. I did a little housework, baked a bundt cake for my sweetie, and washed clothes. Then I decided that it was time for me. So I sat down at my scrappy desk to scrap. It was such a beautiful day here in PA today. It was perfect weather. I opened the front door and even raised the glass part on our screen door so that fresh air could blow into the house. It was so nice. Anyways, I was able to create 2 cards and 1 little project for my hubby. I have been trying to use my paper to the full, so I made 2 cards out of the same sheets of 12x12 cardstock. I was so proud when I finished. I only had a few little strips left. Here is what I came up with...
"Happy Birthday"
Paper: Imaginisce, Die Cuts With A View
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, The Paper Studio
Flowers: Imaginisce
Pearls: Queen & Co.
Rub-On's: Scenic Route Paper Company
Ric Rac Ribbon: Jo Ann
Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories
Die Cut Machine: Cricut (Provo Craft)
Die Cut Cartridge: Home Accents
Die Cut Software: Sure Cuts A Lot, Cricut Gypsy (Provo Craft)
The inspiration for this card came from all of the adorable projects I've been seeing on the web using those cute little banners. Now, I do not have a Cricut cartridge or punch in the shape of the little flags on my banner. So I decided to make my own using Inkscape and SCAL. If you are a SCAL user and would like the SVG for this little flag to make a banner of your own, shoot me an email at aymee810@yahoo.com and I'll be more than happy to share it with ya!
The letters on the banner are rub-on's and the title 'birthday' is alphabet stickers. I used my Gypsy to tweak the medallion shape I put that on. It was too big, so I stretched it out a tad.
I popped up the banner and the medallion shape for some dimension.
"Thank Ya"
Paper: Imaginisce, Die Cuts With A View
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, The Paper Studio
Rub-On's: Scenic Route Paper Co.
Ric Rac Ribbon: Jo Ann
Flowers: Imaginisce
Pearls: Queen & Co
Zebra Printed Ribbon: Ribbon FX (Hobby Lobby)
Alphabet Stickers: Pink Paislee
Die Cut Machine: Cricut (Provo Craft)
Die Cut Software: Sure Cuts A Lot
I made this card second and pretty much used the same design as the first. I just liked the banner so much I had to use it again.
Again, popped up the banner for dimension.
Now this third project is a little out of my norm. I usually do not do things like this, but it's for my hubby. Brandon just bought his first electric guitar and is going to learn to play!!! I am so excited! I told him he had to write a song for me one of these days! I keep asking him what he is going to name his guitar, but he hasn't told me yet. I kept saying 'You'll have to play with her to see what she feels like!' LOL. He just laughed! Anyways, he has a big book that he is reading all about guitars. Well, we were in the bed the other night and I noticed how he kept losing his place. So I thought, hmmm, I'm gonna make him a bookmark. So that is what this is.
"Guitar Bookmark"
Paper: Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants Designs
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Pearls: Queen & Co.
Wire: (not sure on this one, I purchased it at Wal Mart years ago)
Die Cut Machine: Cricut (Provo Craft)
Die Cut Cartridge: Indie Art (Provo Craft)
Die Cut Software: Cricut Gypsy (Provo Craft)
Adhesive: Helmar 450 Quick Dry
This bookmark is very basic. It was all I could do not to girl it up! LOL! Y'all know me...I'm a bit girly. But I did add craft wire to mimic the 'strings' and the pearls are for those little things that you turn. Don't ask me what they are because I don't know! LOL. I just looked at his guitar and modeled it the best I could. I wanted to make it look the same as his, but did not have paper to match. So I just winged it.
I hope he'll like this!
I was so glad to put this wire to use. I have had it for such a long time and never pulled it out.
Alrighty then, that is all for me today. I'm off to bed. We have a full day planned tomorrow. It's Brandon's off day! Yippie Skippy!!!
Y'all have a fabulous Thursday! Thanks for visiting my blog!
Hugs!
