'The Night Before Christmas' Board Book

Good evening yall! I hope you are enjoying a relaxing evening. I just finished up putting the final touches on my 'Night Before Christmas' boardbook for our challenge this week at The Cuttlebug Spot. I was inspired to do this book by the cutest idea I saw on a fellow Cricuteer's blog. Here is the link to her awesome book....

http://bugjunkie.blogspot.com/2009/08/night-before-christmas-shape-book.html

Isn't that about the cutest thing you have ever seen??!!! I just loved it from the minute I saw it! She is such a talented artist and I would like to say 'Thank You' for the inspiration!!!

Now, when I saw this, I knew I would not be able to use her files. One, I do not own design studio or all of the cartridges needed. But I do have SCAL and thought I'd give it a try on my own. I don't know if mine can compare to the original, but I know I sure had fun making this book. Here is my version....

***I hope you can tell with these pictures. I took these in my kitchen. I love board books but I hate photographing them!!! Give me a LO or card any day to photograph!!! These are tough to get a picture of. But if you can't see it well, if you will click on the picture, it will bring it up big and then you can select the 'back' icon to get back to this post.

View of the book from the front. I used my Bind It all to bind the book. I added tulle and ribbon to the rings. I used a lot of Stickles glitter glue too. I also distressed the edges of everything.

Page One

I used the Christmas Solutions cartridge for the lightpost and the 'Snow' and 'Divine Swirl' embossing folder.

Back of Page 1 and Front of Page 2

The tree and sign post with the 'G' (my last initial) were cut with Christmas Solutions. The clouds were cut with Home Accents. The letter 'G' is a font called 'Brock Script.' I used the 'Divine Swirl' embossing folder on the tree's.

Back of Page 2 and Front of Page 3

The chandelier was cut with Home Decor. The victorian chair was cut with the use of SCAL. I used the 'Snow Dots' embossing folder. I added some green trim to mimic the fringe on the 'rug.' On the right, the girl is praying before bedtime on Christmas Eve. Also, throughout the book, you will notice little boxes of text. These have the poem 'The Night Before Christmas' on it. I wanted the book to tell the story of 'The Night Before Christmas' as you go.

Back of Page 3 and Front of Page 4

More of the poem on these pages. I used 'Swiss Dots' for the photo mats. The topiaries next to the fireplace, candles, stockings, and fire were all cut with Joys of The Season.

Back of Page 4 and Front of Page 5

I used Joys of the Season for the gifts and garland. The rocking horse and bear were cut with Christmas Solutions. I used the Christmas Tree and Ornament embossing folders.

Back of Page 5 and Front of Page 6

I used the Script embossing folder on this one.

Back of Page 6 and Front of Page 7

The snowflakes were cut with Joys of the Season. I used the 'Ornaments, Distressed Stripes, and Christmas House' embossing folders.

Back of page 7

I used Joys of the Season for the 'Merry Christmas.'

If you are a SCAL user, I will be sharing the files for this book on my SVG blog within the week. Thanks for stoppin' by today! Have a great evening and Happy Scrappin'!!!!!
Oooh, and I forgot....if you have a fun Christmas project to share, do hop on over to The Cuttlebug Spot to join us for this challenge!!!
Bye yall!
