It's A Boy

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Did you enjoy it? I sure hope so! We went on a little mini trip...just me, the hubby, and Katie Scarlett. We had a ball! She loved the open road! I tell ya, this puppy has made our lives so wonderful! She is amazing and keeps us laughing all the time! We are so blessed that she is in our lives!

Speaking of being blessed, y'all remember how I told you I was going to be an aunt again?!! Well, we found out it is a boy!!! I am so thrilled for my brother and his wife. I have been trying to send them cards and make them a few things. So, this past week I sat down with my Momenta goodies to make her a banner. I thought she could display this on the door at the hospital, at their home, or use as a shower decoration. I sure hope she will like it. I tried to keep it more on the simple end and boy'ish. I also created this for my Momenta DT blog posting. I also laminated the banner to help protect it, hence the glare on the photo. It was a gloomy day when I shot these pix. I hope you can tell about it.

"Boy" Banner

I love these clear layered stickers from Momenta! They are so whimsical and cute!!
Looky at the little monkey in the hot air balloon? So adorable!!!
I hope you have enjoyed this project! It was really simple and easy to pull together.

I love love love the banner. It is so cute!! I have a question on your laminating. We do alot of family camping that my husband likes to put holiday decorations out during. I have tried laminating some of my projects but it doesn't work out so well. Do you laminate each piece of the pendants separately then piece together?

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

Jen...I did not laminate the embellishments on top, only the layers of paper. So for this piece, I put together the brown shadow, the cream scallop, and the patterned paper pennent. I then laminated it using my Purple Cows Hot Laminator. I run the same piece through using their Hot Pockets about 4 times to ensure I have a good seal on it. I have noticed before though if things are too dimensional, they will not seal up properly. So when I laminate banners, I usually only laminate the paper. I then use embellishments that are plastic or acetate so they won't curl up like paper was. On this project, I used clear layered stickers that are made out of clear acetate stuff so they won't curl up over time. Hope that helps some! :)
