Snowflakes Are Kisses Sent From Heaven

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We have another fun challenge for you at My Craft Spot. This is challenge #41 and is called 'Snow Much Fun.' This week we are creating projects centered around snow/snowmen! If you would like to check out my fellow DT's fabulous projects and get info on entering the challenge, go HERE. For my DT project this week I decided to go with a card. When I think of snow/snowmen, the first thought that comes to my mind is all of the beautiful colors. I love when the rays of sunlight hit the snow and you see that rainbow of colors. For me, I always noticed the cool blues, creams, silvers, and a touch of brown. I know the snow is not brown, but I always see the branches sticking out of the snow. So when I sat down to create my project, these are the colors I kept in mind. I knew I wanted to add lots of sparkle to the card too to mimic the way the snow sparkles. To create my shimmering effect, I used rhinestones and some trim I found in the floral department that sparkles. Here is my card...

 This card has a lot of dimension to it. I think I will give it out by hand. Katie Scarlett, my Yorkie, has her spay surgery today. This card is a 'thank you' card so I thought I may give it to the staff at our vet to thank them for taking care of our baby.

 I tied twine on my chipboard button.

My Fluff Pup

Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! Katie Scarlett has her spay surgery tomorrow, so we got a bathsies this morning. I decided to put her in one of her prettiest dressies since she has surgery tomorrow. Y'all keep her in your thoughts and prayers if you could. I know it is a routine procedure, but Mommy is scared! I am definitely going to come home and scrap, scrap, scrap!!! It's about the only thing I can do to occupy my mind. But I know I will still be worried about my baby girl!

I shot some pix this morning and wanted to share...

Here she is after I put up her top knot. She rolled around in her bed for a minute and it got a little lopsided, but she still is as cute as a button to me! Tee hee!

 How could you not love that facie?!! My angel!

 Her dress is custom made from Bella's Prissy Puppie Boutique! Love her dresses from there! We have a 'sock monkey' and a 'floral' patterned one on the way. Ooh, and she has a VERY SPECIAL outfit coming for Valentine's Day!

 She's like...'Mom! I'm trying to eat here! Leave me alone!' LOL!

 "Hey! Didn't I say I was trying to eat?!"

 "Ruh Roh! I hear something under the door Mom! What is it? Is it Daddy? I'm ready to defend the man cave at all costs!" LOL

 That little tush stuck u pin the air while she nosies under the door! Crackin' me up!

Christmas 2011

Hey y'all! I know these are a little late, but I wanted to share a few pix of Katie Scarlett on Christmas morning. She had such a good Christmas! She loved opening her presents! These first few pictures are of her opening her gifts at my Mom's on Christmas morning. She loved the bow!

 Tee hee! That poor bow did not have a chance once it met Katie Scarlett!

 As you can tell, she got a 'faux foot' for Christmas. She loves socks, toes, and feet. We thought this would help her from having at ours! LOL! So far, it has worked! She loves her foot!

 She got a mix of toys from a stocking at PetSmart.

 On Christmas night, Katie Scarlett went with us to my Aunt's house for a big family get together. She went as Mrs. Claus. She loved meeting her extended family!

Creative Charms Altered Projects

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday to you! I have a few new projects to share with you. I had a blog posting for Creative Charms yesterday and I wanted to share my projects with you here as well. First up, I have a frame that I altered for my kitchen. I love to decorate in fresh fruits and vegetables in the spring time so I thought this frame would look nice hanging in my kitchen.

Who's Ready For A Sleepover?!!!

Hey y'all! How are ya?! So sorry to be MIA for a bit. We spent the past couple of days driving back from Alabama. We had spent a long holiday with our families. Everyone had a ball, but I am glad to be home. I have so much to catch up on and do, but I had to hop online right quick to blog. I have a few new projects that I have done and will post those before the day is out. I had to show you guys something first though. Katie Scarlett got the CUTEST bed for Christmas from her Grammy and Grampy! Look how cute she is! She has a nicer bed than Mommy and Daddy!!!

 After I put the bed together, she hopped right in, looked up at me, smiled, and dozed off to dream land. She is in there snoring as I type. Silly girl!

My Craft Spot Challenge #39-Winter Wonderland

I wanted to share my project with you here on my own blog as well, so here we go. I created an altered project for this week. This tealight candle holder came from Dollar General and was a whopping 30 cents!!! It was originally in an Americana theme. I used winter themed papers and embellishments to alter it for my needs. I thought this would make a cute little gift to send out.

Since the challenge is themed around glitter, I used a mixture of glittered patterned paper, glittery rhinestone stickers, glittered snowflake stickers, glittery trim, and glittered tealight candles to bring on the sparkle in my project.

I used some crinkle ribbon in 'Cranberry' to tie the center tealight candle.

 I used a mixture of twine, red trim, and a snowflake sticker to jazz up the sides of my holder.

 Aren't these little glittery snowman shaped tealight candles the cutest?!!

January Berry Bleu DT Reveal

Hey y'all! Happy New Year! 2012 is here! Woot Woot! I hope you all are having a great New Year's so far! Today is the 1st of January and that means we have a new reveal for you guys over at the Berry 71 Bleu blog. As you may already know, Marivic is the owner of Berry 71 Bleu and she makes the most gorgeous handmade tags! For this month, Marivic sent me a beautiful tag in a Parisian looking theme. I knew the moment I saw it I wanted to use it on a frame for my Mom. My mother changes out the decor' in her kitchen regularly and one month she uses a Parisian theme. I thought this would look nice displayed on the counter top. I sure hope she will like it!

 I just adore Marivic's tags! Every little detail and embellishments she adds makes them so unique!

 I added a grouping of rhinestones to the corner of the frame. I cut the 'Paris' phrase out using my Cricut and 'Summer In Paris' cartridge. I cut it out once in a black glittered cardstock and once in a cream colored patterned paper. I did a bit of cutting with my scissors to make both layers of the cut show up a bit better.

 See all the yummy dimension Marivic adds with buttons, flowers, and other embellishments? I love it!

Happy New Year

Hey yall! How are ya doing on this beautiful day? Did you have a good Christmas?!!! I sure hope so! I have a new post going up over at the She's A Sassy Lady Blog today and I wanted to share my project with you guys here as well. With Christmas over, I thought I better look ahead at the next holiday...New Years! Can you believe it's almost 2012? I have a feeling it's going to be a great year! I created this card to send to a friend to celebrate New Year's. I made this card in about 30 minutes, so you can't beat that.
