It's A Girl

It's A Girl! No! Not for me....but I wish! Tee Hee! I have another Cuts 2 Die 4 project to share with you today. I used the 'Little Bo Peep' Silhouette cut to create this door sign. I cut the silhouette out using some blue patterned paper. I then cut out the silhouette with the 'shadow' function on in my SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) with some chipboard and then again twice with some brown cardstock. I used my Crop A Dile to punch a hole and thread some tulle through for the hanger. I added some Making Memories Chipboard and Pink Paislee alpha stickers for the title. Here it is...

The hanging portion is about 6", but I tucked it behind the sign for the picture.

If you would like to purchase this file, here is the direct link for you....

Survivor Sunday

Hey yall! Happy Sunday! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend! Today I wanted to share my projects for this week's Survivor challenge at Tallyscrappers. I used the Treasured Scrapbooking October Card Kit for this page. This week we had to create a layout that was a size other than 12x12. It is an 8x8 page with the die cut paper added to the bottom, but I think I will adhere this to a 12x12 piece of solid cardstock before adding it to an album. Here is the page...

'Livvy'

Also, since I missed last week's challenge (was overloaded and missed it), I had to do a makeup. The makeup this week was to make a card using your scraps from your page. So I made a little 4x4 notecard with my scraps. I thought this would be good tucked inside a gift or something.
That's all from me today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy Scrappin'! As always, thanks for stopping by!!!

A Dress For Brewing Up A Mess

I know! I know! You are thinking...has Aymee gone nuts? Halloween is so over!!! LOL! But I guess it's never too early to get started for next year, right?! Tee Hee! But really, this project is for Cuts 2 Die 4. As I had mentioned previously, this is a new online store for SVG downloads that are used with the Sure Cuts A Lot Software. This sofware is for use with your Cricut Die Cutting machine. I love me some SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot.) I will be sharing projects that I have created using their cuts on a regular basis with you. Since the store is newer, there are not too many files, but never fear....there is so much awesome stuff in store. I will be here to share it with you too!!! Yay! For my first project to share with you, I used a file called 'Vampire Vixen' to make a shaped card. I just loved the dress with this cut! It is right up my alley. Now, this file is located under 'Halloween,' but the dress could be used for any occasion. I added some bling, toile, and pins. Here it is....

Here is the link to where you can purchase this file at Cuts 2 Die 4. Their prices rock too!!!
Thank you, as always, for taking the time to visit my blog today! I hope you have a wonderful day and see you again soon!!!!

Time To Be Practical....

Hey yall!!! I hope you are enjoying a beautiful day!!! I am excited to announce that I have been asked to be the Guest Designer at a wonderful blog called 'Practical Scrappers'!!! I am so excited and would like to thank Christine and all the girls at Practical Scrappers for this wonderful opportunity. I am going to be doing 2 challenges with them. If you have never visited the blog, you so need to! So much inspiration and fun challenges! The blog focuses on being practical and using up those supplies that we all have in our scrappy rooms. How fun is that! Here is the link for you....

http://www.practicalscrappers.com/

For this challenge, I was asked to use ribbon 3 different ways on a page. If you know me, this was perfect!!! You all know how much I adore ribbon!!! I can't get enough of it! Tee Hee! For my page, I used 3 different types of ribbon, each in their own way. I pulled most of the papers/embellishment for this page from the October Kit #1 at Treasured Scrapbooking. Here it is...

'Natural Beauty'
Isn't little Olivia just beautiful?!! She is my bff from high school's little girl.

I used staples to hold some orange ribbon that I weaved back/forth. This is a favorite technique of mine. I did a simple tutorial on it a few months back. If you would like to view that, go here...

http://southernbellescrapper.blogspot.com/2009/05/ribbon-tutorial.html

This cute little birdie ribbon is from Jillibean. I just added a simple knot for some dimension. This ribbon is included in the aforementioned kit.

I used the teal ribbon for the lacing.

To show some dimension...

So do come on over to Practical Scrappers and join in on this fun challenge!!!!! As always, thank you for stopping by my blog today! Have a wonderful day and Happy Scrappin'!!!!

Just Add Scraps & A RAK

Hey yall! We just had a fun 'Just Add Scraps' challenge over at Treasured Scrapbooking. If you are not sure what this is, I'll explain it for ya. It is so fun! We are given a sketch and challenged to create a layout only using scraps from our scrappy stash. It is a great way to use up those scraps we all have in our scrappy rooms. For this round, I decided to use up some scraps I had leftover from one of my kits at Treasured Scrapbooking. Here is the page I created using the sketch. This is me, Mom, and Carter having some fun at the Crayola Factory in Spring of 08.

I pulled out the Cuttlebug and used it on the strips.

As an added bonus this time, we were challenged to make a card using the leftover scraps from the layout. I did not have too many left, so I created this little mini 3x3 card using the same sketch I used for the LO. It's tiny, but thought it would work well when I need to send out a RAK or something.

And speaking of RAK's....it's been too long since I had one! So how about a RAK today. I have some Urban Lily 'Secret Keeper' Windows chipboard and a Daisy D's CD Minibook up for grabs. All you have to do is be a follower of this blog and leave a comment!!! That's it! I will announce a winner on Friday!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!!!!

New Week, New Projects!!!

Hey guys! Happy Monday! Another new week and more projects to share with you! I always love the first of the month!!! It means I can reveal stuff! LOL.

First, Monday always means another new challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are creating Thanksgiving projects. Here is the link to the blog for you to check out the other DT's creations and to join us for the fun!!!!

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

This week I created a card. I cut this turkey out using the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. I cut the 'feather's off and added some of these colored leaves I have had in my scrappy bin forever but never used. I love the pop of color they give. I used the Pumpkin embossing folder on some Coredination's cardstock. I then sanded the cardstock to reveal the core of the cardstock which is a lighter shade of orange. I just love this colored core cardstock! It's so fun to work with. I added some ribbon and trim. The alphas are from Jenni Bowlin.

Gobble Gobble! A up close of my turkey lurkey...Tee Hee...

Next, I wanted to share with you the layout I created for my monthly challenge at Treasured Scrapbooking. My challenge is titled 'On Pins & Needles.' November 27th is National 'Pins & Needles' day and that was my inspo for the challenge. I used my Cricut and SCAL software for the word 'Caught.' I stickled this with some red Stickles. The rest of the page, with the exception of the brown trim, was created using the November Kit #2 at Treasured Scrapbooking. If you are looking for some papers and sewing notions to use in your projects, this is the kit for you!!! I loved it!!! I also used my sewing machine to stitch around the edge. I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Fired Brick. Here is the page....

"Caught In Your Gaze"
This is a pic of me and the hubby taken during our engagement portrait sitting...

Aren't these pins from the kit so cute? They are from Making Memories.

I cut some vintage tickets (also found in the kit and from Making Memories) in half and used them under the pic...

These super cool paper clips are in the kit too and are from 7 Gypsies...

The epoxy alphas are in the kit as well. I love the look of them.

If you would like to join in on the challenge, visit the link below. I have a $10 gift card up for grabs!!!!

ScrapFIT Workout #7 & Treasured Scrapbooking Reveals

Hey yall! Happy Sunday! It's the start of another month!!! Can you believe it??!!! I sure can't! Before we know it, Christmas will be here! Anyways, I have some new stuff to share with you today.

First, we have another fun workout for you at ScrapFIT. Here is the link if you would like to visit the blog for the challenge and to see the other designers work....

http://scrapfit.blogspot.com/

For this challenge, we were to use a football shape in our layout, funky lettering (Capital mixed in with Lowercase), and the layout needed to be family related. I decided to scrap my little family. At the moment, it is just me and my husband, but we hope to have a new addition soon. For the football shape, I used a punchout embellishment that says 'Grateful' on it. My lettering is from Pink Paislee and I used a mixture of capital and lower case. I pulled most of the papers/embellishment for this page from the October Kit #1 at Treasured Scrapbooking. Here is the page....

"Our Little Family"

This pic was taken in Gettysburg on Little Round Top.

I pleated some cardstock and then tore the bottom....

Do come on over and join us for this fun challenge! We'd love to see what you can do!!!

Next, today is the 1st, so that means reveals for Treasured Scrapbooking. At the 1st of the month, the DT are responsible for one layout/coordinating sketch with the assigned kit and issuing a monthly challenge. I am gonna share my layout to go with my monthly challenge tomorrow, so be sure to check back in if you can!!! :) But today, I thought I'd go ahead and share my sketch and layout with you. Here is the sketch I created to go with my first layout of the month.

Now for my layout. I was assigned Kit #1 this month and it is full of all sorts of goodies. I really like the feminine looking papers and embellishments. For the flowers, I cut a leaf shape out using my Cricut and Home Decor' cartridge. I cut out the shape on blackout using various patterned papers from the kit. Next, using red cardstock, I cut out the same with shadow function on. I then stacked these and used my paper piercer to poke a hole through all of them. I then added a brad and fanned out the 'leaves' to make a flower. I also turned up the edges a bit for some dimension. The black with numbers that you see is Gaffer Tape from 7 Gypsies. I just love that stuff. It has such a cool texture to it. Here is the page...

'Ten Tiny Toes'

Isn't this picture adorable? It was taken by my friend, Tara. This is her little girl, Olivia.

Up close of the large flower. The rhinestone brad that I used in the center is included in the kit as well. This kit has some awesome brads in it!!!

There is also some great ribbons in the kit. I used some red to make some loops on the top of some cardstock for dimension.

Be sure to hop on over to the gallery at Treasured Scrapbooking some time this week to check out the other designers fabulous pages/sketches! So much inspiration!!!!

As always, I want to thank you for taking a moment to stop by my blog today! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing day!!!! Take care!
