Just Scrappin One Hour Sketch Challenge Challenge

Hey everyone! How are you? Well, I am happy to report, I finally have all my Christmas decorations up! Yay! I've been working on it for days. I've been getting ready for my parents arrival for Thanksgiving. I will take pix of the house tomorrow and post so yall can see my home decorated for the holidays. Anyways, I have been so busy this past week, I have not scrapped a thing! If you know me, that is almost unheard of! A week without scrapping? GASP! LOL. But it's true. So tonite I just had to participate in our One Hour Sketch Challenge at Just Scrappin. These are always so much fun and I invite all of you to come on over and join us next time!!! BRRRRR!!!! Baby, It's Cold Outside!

BRRRR!!! It is chilly up here in the big PA!!! We actually got some snow today! It was pretty while it lasted, but most is gone now. How's everybody doin'? Good I hope. I am still a little sick. The body aches are gone, but I can't quit coughing. This congestion mess is the pitts! Yuck!!!!! I have been decorating some more today. I hope to be done either tonite or tomorrow. But I think Brandon is wanting to go and eat Mexican food tonite, so it may be tomorrow. Hope all of you are having a beautiful weekend! Oh, and one more thing, could I please ask for your thoughts and prayers for a couple friends of mine. Two of the girls I scrap with, Katie and Jamie, were in a car accident this afternoon. They both are ok, thank goodness, but have some bumps and bruises. Both are pretty shaken up. So just say a prayer for them and there families if you could. Thank you soooo much! Exhausted and Sick

Hey yall! How are you doing this week? Well, I'm back from my big trip to Nashville. I had the best time!!! One of the best times ever actually! Cristal and Cherrie were too much fun! We had a blast and I hope we all can meet up again really soon. We had a wonderful time at the Fiskafrenzy. A HUGE thank you to Rebecca and to Fiskars! It was so much fun! I met alot of nice ladies and had alot of laughs. We got all sorts of goodies. I am just in awe of how much we got! This trip really has inspired me. I am so blessed and have so much to be thankful for. I want to start doing more RAK's (Random Acts of Kindness) and giving back to the community that has given me so much. I have to say though, that I have caught a terrible cold! I feel like I've been hit by a truck! So it may take me a few days to get going again. But I wanted to check in to say hello to everyone. I hope you all are well!!! I missed all of you but again, had the time of my life!!!!!!!!

Tea Bag Folding: A Christmas Tree

Hey everyone! Well, I had to post this card front I did today before going to bed. I've got a plane to catch in the morning, so gonna try to get lots of rest. I got in my new Martha Stewart Icicle Border punch today and just had to use it. I love the art of tea bag folding. It is 'snow' much fun. LOL! So when I saw this idea in a book given to me by one of my good friends on Just Scrappin', I knew I had to try it. This is just a card front. I ran out of blank cards, so I will have to finish this one up when I get some. I ran the background through the Cuttlebug using the Snow Dots Embossing Folder. I then tore a strip of white paper for the 'snow'. I also embossed it using D'Vine Swirl. After embossing, I added Stickles to the swirl design for some shimmer. Next, I followed the directions to make my tea bag folded tree. Isn't it so cool? I love this look! I then used my new border punch to create the effect at the bottom. I also stickled over this for some added shimmer. Last, a star on top to complete the card. I think I will put my Christmas sentiment on the inside of the card. Thanks for looking! All Jacked Up (Gutter Girlz Prompt 10)

It's Thursday! Yay! Tomorrow I fly to Nashville to meet up with my girls Cherrie and Cristal for the Fiskafrenzy! Yay!!!! Anywho, I wanted to post my LO for the Gutter Girlz Prompt 10. This prompt is "Alcohol Makes Me," the song is "All Jacked Up" by Gretchen Wilson, and the technique/product is alcohol bottle or parts. When I first saw this prompt, I was like "Oh no! What will I do?" I am not really a drinker. I have drank before, but I just don't very often. I just don't have the taste for it, I guess you might say. So I had to think and think. Well, I finally thought about this pic that was taken during a Girls Night In with my gf's here in PA. I did have a Strawberry Margarita that night, made especially for me with very little alcohol. But they wanted a pic with shot glasses, so I have to confess, the shot glass I am holding is not even mine! LOL! How lame, right?! But still a fun pic. So I decided to scrap it. I used some bottle caps for my center on the flowers. The lettering is a mixture of chipboard and cut with Cricut Printing Press. I also cut the beads on a string looking thingies on the right hand side and the flourish with the Cricut using the Home Accents cartridge. The flowers are velvet. All patterned paper is My Mind's Eye...my fave line! Thanks for looking and thanks to the girls at Gutter Girlz for another challenge that made me think. I am always so glad each time I complete a challenge there! They really get you to thinking and that is so awesome! So definitely stop by and check it out! Have a great weekend yall! I'm off to TN!

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

You know how we've heard of things doing double duty? Well, this card is doing triple-duty for me! LOL. I am using this card for this week's challenges on The Cuttlebug Spot and Cuttlebug Challenges. Also, we have just opened up a new swap at Just Scrappin' for Christmas cards, so I'm using it for that as well. Hey, we all gotta do it sometimes. Anyways, the challenge on the blogs were the same this week: to emboss a die cut. So on my card, I used the Snow Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder for the background. I am in love with this one! It reminds me of the "Double Wedding Ring" pattern and it is just beautiful. I took my brown ink pad and ran over it to distress some. I then cut my tea cup using the Cricut Joys Of The Season Cartridge. I ran this piece through the Cuttlebug using Distressed Stripes. I then added a strip of light brown cardstock and border punched it with one of my new border punches: Martha Stewart Embossed Scallop. I also incorporated some ribbon. The snowflake was also cut with the JOTS cartridge and I ran it through the Cuttlebug using D'Vine Swirl. Then a simple stamped image heat embossed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distressing Powder and I was done with the front. I then decorated the inside. I used Distressed Stripes again on the rectangle and cut out another tea cup with JOTS. Then on the back...yet another tea cup and I embossed it with the "Created For You With Love" folder. I also decorated my envelope with some of the same techniques. So yay! I love when I can use something more than once. I've got the big Fiskateer event this weekend and I am glad I was able to get 2 to do's done this way. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Roll Tide Roll Baby!!!! Whoo hoo!

Roll Tide! Hey yall! Well, if you know me well enough, you know me and my whole family are huge Alabama fans. We love Alabama football!!! I am so very proud of our team this year! Yay! I have had this idea in my head for quite some time, just never able to get to it. So today I did. I made 4 of these notecards to send to some of the guys in my family. It is inspired by the remarkable Paul Bear Bryant and his famous hat. I used the Cuttlebug Houndstooth folder and ran black ink over the top to achieve the look. I did not have an Alabama 'A', so I had to improvise. I used the Cricut Storybook cart and cut out an 'A' with the Fancy Corner Creative Function key on. I then did a little bit of trimming and folding, and voila'! Just what I needed! Thanks for looking! Hope you all are having a great week!

Sheer Exhillaration

I just finished up this LO for another challenge over at Just Scrappin'. It is for our monthly sketch challenge. Please excuse the photo quality...I hope you can tell a little about it. Hook, Line, and Stinker

Monday, Monday! This day has went by surprisingly fast. Monday is my cleaning day, but I finally finished and was able to sit down to scrap. I am gonna try to get all my challenges done before leaving for the Fiskafrenzy on Friday. I have alot to do this month. I hope I don't get too far behind. This LO is for a challenge over on Just Scrappin'. The challenge this month was to make a circular LO. This is my nephew Carter. I chose the title "Hook, Line, and Stinker" because he is our little stinker! He is always such a mess and into everything. LOL! Thanks for looking! Hope you have a great rest of the evening!

Gate fold Thanksgiving Cards

Well first off, a big "ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!" Can ya tell I was excited about the game? It was a nail biter today!!! But we came out on top, so that's good. Anyways, after the game I decided to finish up my Thanksgiving cards so that I can get them in the mail in a few days. I did them all as gate fold cards. This first one I used the Cuttlebug Houndstooth EB folder and then distressed it with TH (Tim Holtz) Distress Ink in Peeled Paint. The turkey is a stamp from the $1 bin at M's....can't beat that. Then I added some orange stickles to him as well. So here is this one:

Next, I used the CB Distressed Stripes folder on this one. Again, more distressing with the TH Distress Ink in Peeled Paint. The pumpkin was cut from the Happily Ever After cartridge. Then addes some stickles:

This third card, I used the Pumpkin Harvest CB EB folder. I then sanded it down to reveal the image. I added some eyelets and some festive ribbon to tie it closed:

And last, I used some foam stickers for the turkey and the 'gobble' on this one. I used a combo of the CB EB folders. I distressed the left side with Orange Marmalade TH Distress Ink. I also added eyelets and decided to tie this one closed too.

Cuttlebug Challenge # 6

The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge and Just Scrappin' Monthly Challenge

TGIF! I can't believe it is Friday! Where has this week gone???? It flew by for me. I hope the weekend will go by slower. I wanted to post what I've been up to today. First, I did my card for this weeks challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot Blog. This weeks challenge was to use a EB folder and a border punch. I got the idea for this card from one of the best little scrappers I know, my mom. ( I love you mom and thanks for letting me scraplift!!!) She had done a tag like this and I had to give it a try too. I cut the candle out with the Cricut Christmas Solutions cart. I then used Versamark ink to ink up the entire portion of the red candle. I then used clear eb powder and heat eb'd this. It makes the candle look and feel like real wax! It's amazing! Yall gotta try it! I mean it is the same!! I also used some gold stickles on my flame. For my border punch, I chose the MS Drippy Goo border punch. It reminded me of the hot wax dripping off of the candle. Then I chose to use the D'Vine Swirl Cuttlebug EB folder. The swirls reminded me and mom of the smoke that comes off the flame as the candle is burning. I also used some red sparkly riboon. Easy as pie and fun! Here it is:

The inside of the card. I used the border punch again to mimic dripping wax and cut the "Season's Greetings" with the same cart.


Now, our monthly challenge at Just Scrappin' was to make a sign. All of us girls are making signs for our scrappy areas. I made mine on cardboard. I cut the lettering out with the Cricut Storybook cart. Then the flourishes are from the Home Accents cart. Of course, what is a southernbelle's sign without a real southernbelle? So I used my favorite stamp of a southern belle. I heat eb'd it with gold eb powder. I then used my pink watercolor pencil to highlight some areas and then used the water brush on it. I also added these really cool velvety flowers. Last, I made a hanger with pearl ribbon. This one was so fun and it's already hangin' up in my area....my sanctuary away from it all!
