He Can Always Brighten My Day!!!

Hey y'all! Happy Friday!!! TGIF! Whoo hoo! I am so glad the weekend is here! I've got a weekend of scrappin' to do and am so excited to get started! I've been working on some projects this week, which I will share this evening...gotta get the pix edited first. But I wanted to hop on and blog right quick to send some praise out to my wonderful hubby, Brandon. I had been having a rough few days...just been down with some stuff in my personal life and was getting so frustrated and ready to give up. But Brandon always brightens my day! He knew I was feeling rough and he brought me home some flowers!!! I put them on my scrappy desk and can't wait to sit at my desk to admire them while I scrap. Thank you to B for being the BEST hubby!!! I love ya!

I cut the banner pieces out at about a 5" and attached them together using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I cut the circular shape that I put the letters on out using SCAL. I popped those up for added dimension with my Helmar Zap Dots. A very simple project, but I can't wait to put it on my front door!

This page features my favorite little man, my nephew, Carter! He truly is a burst of sunshine in the lives of all he touches! He is such a mess, but a sweetie as well! I did a bit of funky stitching around the edge of the page.I just kind of winged it and did not follow a pattern. I also added zig zag stitching to the center of my circle. I was going for a sunshine look with the big die cut in the back. I used pop dots to pop up the die cuts from Imaginisce for some added dimension.

A Perfect Place for Post It's!

Hey y'all! Happy Monday!!! Did you enjoy a nice weekend?! I hope so! Brandon and I had a wonderful time visiting with our families! Today we are back on the road again making the 12 hour drive back up to Pennsylvania after our vacation, but I wanted to take a minute to blog before we left. I have a post going up on the "She's A Sassylady" blog today and I wanted to share my projects with you here as well. For the tutorial on how I created this project, go HERE for the direct link.

I created these little 'Post It' note holders in treat baggies with my Mom this weekend. As many of you may already know, my Mom teaches 5th grade. Well, she is a scrapper like me and enjoys giving her fellow educators a nice little treat every now and then. This week at school they are going through their yearly state testing with the students, so Mom thought it would be nice to make a little something for everyone. So I came up with this simple take on the 'Post It' note holders. Each of these hold 2 of the 'Post It' note pads. You can purchase a pack of 'Post It' notes at Wal Mart in a pack of 6 pads for a little over $5. So you could make 3 of these out of one pack, so very affordable. I put an initial on the inside and the back of each of these to personalize them a tad. I hope the teachers will enjoy using these.

Double The Helmar! Double The Fun!!!

Hey' yall! Happy Thursday!!! I hope all of you are having a wonderful week! I have been a busy bee this week. My husband and I are down in Alabama visiting our families. We are having a ball!  See the dimension? I love it! I left the glass out of the frame for this very reason. I wanted this to pop off the wall so to speak.

Hey y'all! What's up?!!! I hope each of you are having a phenominal week! I have been busy busy. Brandon and I made it safe and sound to Alabama and are having a ball visiting our family. Today we are headed to Auburn, AL to visit his brother. Being big Alabama football fans, I hope my car doesn't get vandalized! LOL. 'Cause we have several AL stickers. We are only staying one night though, so maybe it won't be too bad. I really want to scrap, but it may be Thursday before I get to it. A Couple New Cards...

Hey y'all! Happy Monday to you! I hope your week is starting off grand! I have been cleaning, doing laundry, cooking, and scrappin' today. The hubby had to go out to Jersey and I cooked him a nice dinner before he left: Lemon Dill Baked Tilapia Filet's, Macaroni & Cheese (tried that new Kraft Home style kind...it was pretty good), green beans, and some fresh yeast rolls. It was so yummy and nice to sit down to eat with Brandon before he had to leave. I hate it when he has to go to work. The house is so quiet and lonely while he is gone and I do not like it! LOL.

So today, I tried to do a bit of scrappin'. I was not feeling too creative at first but there was nothing else to do. So I needed some serious inspiration. I found that inspiration at a new blog I discovered while blog hopping called 'Van Larr Designs.' I'm not sure if you've visited her blog or not, but you must! Her work is so inspirational! Helmar Makes Scrappy Life So 'Tweet'

Hey y'all! Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a fabulous week so far! I have a new post going up on the Helmar Blog today and I wanted to share my projects with you here too. If you'd like to see the post, go HERE.

For each of these projects I used my Cricut Expression die cutting machine, Sure Cuts A Lot Software, and files that I purchased at SVGCuts.com. I love their files! They are so cute and amazing to work with!

For this first project, I used the Spring Birdhouses Kit. I scored this svg for FREE when I purchased 2 other sets from their site last week! How awesome is that! It comes with 3 of the cutest little birdhouse boxes AND a bonus: 2 sizes of milk carton boxes! Gotta love that! Their files are so easy to put together. They come with full instructions and pictures! It really made my life 'tweet.'!!! This project also features a new, or new to me, product from Helmar...the Crackle Medium. I used the Crackle Medium to paint over my polka dotted paper on the birdhouse. I wish we had 'feel a vision' so you could feel the neat effect this gave my patterned paper. It cracked really nice and the texture is awesome! I think I'll add some candy to the inside and give this to a friend.

For Your Sweet Tooth

Hey guys! I hope you all are having a fabulous Monday! The hubby is off today so I haven't spent too much time at my scrappy desk. But he was doing some Internet surfing, so I thought I would sit down for a minute and make him a surprise. I made this little cookie box to put in his lunch box as a surprise for his next trip to work. I hope he will be surprised to open his lunch box at work and see this. It's kinda cutesy and corny, but  hey, that's us! LOL.

For this box, I used files from My Scrap Chick. The scalloped top box came from the '30 Boxes & More' set. If you are interested in that, it can be found HERE. Then I put a cute little girl hugging a tooth on the front (for his sweet tooth) from the 'Tooth Fairy' collection. Those can be found HERE. (You'll have to scroll down a bit for that one.)
