Unscripted Sketches #18

Hey yall! How are you doing on this beautiful Saturday morning? Good I hope!!! I love Saturday mornings because it means it's time for another fun sketch at Unscripted Sketches. I just LOVE this blog! The sketches always inspire me so much. They give me that jumping off point when I want to scrap. So go on over and check out this week's sketch:

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

This week I decided to create a bookmark with the sketch. Yes, I am one of those Twilight
fanatics! LOL. I am currently on the 'Eclipse' book and am lovin' it! I am so ready for the 'New Moon' movie to debut! I already told Brandon that I wanted to go! Hee hee. Anywho...this was a very easy, fun project to create. I made it special for one of my scrappy buddies. I hope she will like it. The red polka dotted paper and black chipboard embellishment are Cosmo Cricket. I added a apple brad to the center of the flower. I also incorporated some lace, black crushed velvet ribbon for the bow, and toile' for the top. The alphas are Pink Paislee. I used my Cuttlebug and embossed the white strip of paper with the Swiss Dots folder.

So do come on over and join in on this fun sketch! We'd love to have you!!!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Take care and Happy Scrappin'!!!!!

A Cricut Classroom

Hey yall! Well, I told you several weeks ago about my visit to AL to see my family. My Mom is a 5th grade teacher there and I helped to decorate her classroom while I was home. We used alot of Cricut action and I wanted to share it with yall. You will have to excuse these pix. I took them when I was home. The school was not open to visitors, so the lights in the hallway were not on. I got the best I could.

My Mom has 2 windows in her classroom. I picked out this fabric and she made curtains. I suggested she add ball fringe to the bottom for some extra whimsy. The curtains are brown with hot pink, light pink, and lime green polka dots. Then we cut 2 large owls for each window. The owl that you see is from Disney's Happily Ever After.

On the door leading into her classroom, we cut more owls out. She will put the kids' name on these. The alphas are from Lyrical Letters.

I made this banner to Welcome people to her room. The pennants are from Lyrical Letters. I cut out the word 'Welcome' and added an owl to each one. I strung it together with twine. It is so cute in person. I wish yall could see better. We cut out another large owl and put her name on it so everyone would know it was her room.
Now for her large bulletin board outside. We used light blue fabric for the background and a dark blue border. The tree is paper that my Mom painted herself. We used the title 'This Year Is Going To Be A Hoot' and cut it out with Lyrical Letters. The largest owl is so cute!! I made it especially for Mom. I used some lace on the bust for it's feathers. I also added buttons to the eyes and a bow to her hair. Then all of the smaller owls are for the kids. She will put their names on them. I tried to make the branch more dimensional. I hope you can tell. The hallways are so narrow, I could not stand in front of the board and get the whole thing.
Here is a side view:
I put 2 little owls in the 'hole' of the tree.

This is her large owl.

I used Paper Doll Dress Up for the grass.

Now, I know I am partial since she is my Mom, but her classroom is the cutest thing!!!! I grinned each day I saw it. I hope yall will like it!
Thanks for stoppin' by! I am gettin' back to scrappin' this weekend and promise to share! Yall take care and have a beautiful weekend!

Twilight Swap

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday! As many of you know, I am one of those Twilight fanatics!!! I love Twilight! So I decided to join a Twilight Swap on the Cricut Message Board. I made these little door/wall hangers for my group. I found this pic online and printed it out. I then mounted it twice and used the Martha Stewart drippy goo punch to resemble 'blood.' I also added some red trim and black toile. They are so much cuter in person, but I hope you can tell a bit about them. Here they are:

I can't wait to send these in and get this swap back. I'll be sure to let yall know what all I get back. Yall take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend! Happy Scrappin'!

Debut's Out The Whazoo!!! LOL!

Hey yall!! Happy Saturday!!! It's the first day of August! Can you believe it? This summer is flying by! I can't believe it's almost time for kids to go back to school! But I am ready for fall! Hee hee!! Anyways, Saturday is one of my fave days of the week because it is debut day for Unscripted Sketches. The sketch this week was so fun to work with. If you would like to see the sketch and the other DT's fabulous projects, go here:

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

I decided to make an altered project this week. This is a premade box from Oriental Trading that I altered with American Crafts papers. I really had a lot of fun with this project. It was so easy to create and I love those funky papers. I also incorporated some bling, pom pom trim, ribbon, and Thickers. Here it is:

At Treasured Scrapbooking, we are to create an original layout and coordinating sketch for the 1st of every month. Here is the coordinating sketch I created:

Here is the layout. This layout was created using the Treasured Scrapbooking Kit #1. This is Olivia, my BFF from high school's little girl. I used my Cuttlebug for the butterflies and my Cricut Expression for the circles.

As a DT Member, I also am responsible for one challenge per month. This month, I chose to base my challenge around a festival that we have in my hometown of Russellville, AL every August....the Watermelon festival!! Go on over to Treasured and join in on the challenges if you can! All of the DT post some fun challenges and they always get the creativity going. Here is my layout for my challenge:

Today is also the debut of the workout challenges at a new challenge blog called ScrapFIT. I hope you all will come on over and join in on these fun challenges! This is going to be a great blog and I know there will be so much inspiration going on! Here is the link for you:

For our first challenge, we were asked to create a project with the following guidelines: Water sports and the use of 'ink.' I knew when Kelly told us about this challenge that I wanted to scrap these pictures of Carter outside at Momaw's playing with the hose. Mom snapped this shot and I love how a rainbow showed up in the background. Carter loves to pull out the hose and play to beat the summer heat. All patterned paper is My Mind's Eye. I used some felt Thickers for the title, which I later went over with yellow Stickles. I used my Cricut to cut out the circle for my sun. I then cut some strips for the 'rays'. I added a variety of yellow buttons on the top of my sun for some embellishment. I also decided to add a bit of dimension with my 'rays.' I used Red Colorbox Ink around the edges of some of my paper. Here is the layout:

So you can see the dimension of the 'rays.'
If you can, do hop on over to the blog to see the other fabulous layouts by my fellow DT sista's. We'd love to see what fabulous scrappiness you can do too! So join in on the fun!

Also, we have a fun new challenge at The Chirper Challenge. Here is the link for you:
http://chirperchallenge.blogspot.com/

I chose to make an owl shaped card. This owl is from Happily Ever After. I also incorporated some lace, bling, ribbon, and pearl trim. Here it is:
****Image removed for publication in the March 2010 issue of Cards magazine!!!****
Whoo...I think that is all! It's a busy day today, but super fun! Thank you for stoppin' in today! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Happy Scrappin'!

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

I chose to make this little 3-D Christmas project. I have been wanting to do one of these for some time, but just haven't had time. So I was so glad when Nilda told us we were doing a Christmas challenge. I used the following Cuttlebug folders in this project:
1. D'Vine Swirl
2. Mosaic Texture
2. Swiss Dots
4. Snow

I used the following Cricut carts as well:
1. Christmas Solutions
2. Joys Of The Season
3. Doodlecharms

I used cotton balls, which I stretched out for my snow on the individual platforms. I also added a lot of stickles glitter glue for some shimmer. Here it is:

Here is a view from above so you can see the dimension:

This was a really fun and easy project to make. I can't wait to set it out in my home during the holiday season!
Do come on over to The Cuttlebug Spot and celebrate Christmas in July with us!!! Thanks for stoppin' in today! Happy crafting!
