I Can 'Dwive'

I just finished up this LO and wanted to post. This one is called "I Can Dwive", as Carter would say. He means 'drive.' He was getting his Easter portraits made last year and spotted this little red car. Well, he decided he had to have a picture in it too. So that was the motivation to finish the Easter pix...LOL. I used the Storybook cart on this one. The alpha's are Pink Paislee. I also incorporated some of these cool vellum license plates someone had sent me. Excuse these pix too yall. Thanks for stopping by! Take care and Have a Great Weekend!!! Hugs!

A Card for Rainy

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. I've been kinda sluggish today. I did manage to get this card and paper dolls made. This is for a little girl who is sick in the hospital. She likes princess stuff, so I thought the paper dolls would be nice for her. Thanks for looking!

Pumpkin Pie

Hey guys! How are ya? Well, I wanted to post this LO I did last night before I started scrapping. I did this LO for Cherrie's "Stuffed" challenge over on Treasured Scrapbooking. The challenge was to scrap one of your favorite holiday foods. Well, one of my family favorite holiday foods is pumpkin pie. My mom makes a pumpkin cheescake pie that is to die for! Yum! Sorry no pic yet on the LO....it has yet to be taken. Mom will make one for Christmas and I will snap the pic then and repost so you can see. The challenge also required us to use rubons (the corners), chipboard (the word 'pie'), flowers (brown velvet flowers), and 3 different patterned papers. I used the papers we received at the Fiskafrenzy for this one. I cut the pumpkin out with the Happily Ever After cart. Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

This Week's Card for The Cuttlebug Spot

Good Evening! Well, I just finished up my card for this week's challenge at one of my favorite blogs...The Cuttlebug Spot. If you have a Cuttlebug, you should check it out! Fun!!
This week's challenge was to create a project using stars. I still have access to my mom's Wild Card cart, so I wanted to use it again. I just love this little owl card/envie combo, so I used it. I cut the stars out of silver metallic paper and ran them through using the Houndstooth EB Folder. I also incorporated the Swiss Dots, D'Vine Swirl (for tree top and grass on envie), and Distressed Stripes(on tree trunk on envie). I scanned these...hope you can see. Thanks for looking! Have a great rest of the evening!

Yay! Happy Mail!!!!

Hey everyone! How are you on this chilly Monday? I'm doing great...trying to stay warm! Brrr!!! It's cold here today. But I have to say, my heart was 'warmed' today when I went to the post box. I can never begin to tell you what scrapbooking has done for my life. Not only does it occupy my time, but it has introduced me to some of the best friends a girl could ever ask for. They all keep me company on a daily basis and are one of the biggest blessings I have ever been given. Well, today I received 2 packages in the mail from some of those wonderful scrappy sisters.

First, we are doing a Secret Sister Santa Swap on Just Scrappin'. We all received a name and bought for our individual partner. I can't reveal who mine was yet...don't want to give away the surprise. Well, I got mine today. Yay! I want to thank Amy sooooo much! She really spoiled me! How did she know I liked pink and Hello Kitty?? Hee hee. Amy I love ya gf and I really, really thank you for these wonderful gifts. I will put them all to good use in my scrapbooking. Here are some pix of what Amy sent me:

Next, I also received a package from my good friend, Casey (or Case as I call her) on Just Scrappin'. She is our resident 'happy mail' lady on JS. She is always doing for others!! Such a loving and giving individual! We all love her very much! Thank you so much Casey for thinking of me! I love all of the goodies and can't wait to stamp with the stamps. Casey is a 'Angel Company' (TAC) demonstrator. I have bought from her before and love the TAC stamps!!!! I got a set of snowmen nativity that are just too darlin! Thanks so much Case! Here is what she sent!

Again, thank you to all the scrappy sisters who make my life so very special! You all mean more to me than you will ever know! Take care of yourselves! I'm off to scrap!

All I Want For Christmas....

Hey yall! I've been scrapping this evening. I just finished this layout. It is for 2 challenges, one on Just Scrappin' and one on Treasured Scrapbooking. The challenge on Just Scrappin' was to scrap something about "all I want for Christmas" and for it to have a layered look. Then the challenge on Treasured Scrapbooking was to scrap about something that brings you joy at Christmas. So I scrapped this layout. All I want for Christmas is to see my family, especially my nephew, Carter. I miss them all so much!!! I used the Cricut Christmas Solutions cart for the Santa. I had been having problems with this Santa, but with some pointers, I think this one turned out okay. I love the old world look he has. I cut the flourishes out with Home Decor. Then I also did something else new. I did the paper folding to make a little pleat. I hope you can tell. I had seen this done several times, and I just love the look. I also added some lace on the layout and some distressing. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are well! Hugs!

Acrylic Fun!!!

Happy Sunday everyone! How are you doing today? I'm doing great! Ready to start scrapping! But first, I wanted to share 2 projects I recently completed. I have been introduced to the world of acrylic! I love it! I bought a kit that was designed by our very own Cristal at Just Scrappin on Scrapbook Heaven. It was very affordable and you actually could do 2 projects with it. First, I did the acrylic LO. I am using this layout for not one, not two, but three challenges! Yay! Gotta love that!

Well, one of the challenges I am using this for was to let a holiday song inspire you. Well, one of my favorite songs to hear this time of year is "Mary, Did You Know?" If you have never heard this song, you should! It is beautiful! I have it by several artists on my blog. You can scroll down to the bottom and find it. I love it! It touches my heart. So I decided to let it inspire me on this layout. In 2006, Carter, his mommy, and his daddy all participated in the Christmas play at their church. They were Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. So I decided to use this picture for my layout. I really wanted the lyrics to the song on my layout, so I hand wrote them and included them too. Now, all the paper and embellishments that you see came in the kit. They were all so fun to work with. There were pretty papers, lace, ribbon, bling, press on's, chipboard snowflakes, stickles, etc. I used some of the press on's and a few of the pearls on my clear part of the layout. I hope you can see them. Then I added more embellishment on top of the paper. I also used my Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge punch for some more dimension. I do have one thing to say though, acrylic is hard to photograph!!! So I hope you can tell about. I am very proud of this layout. It touches my heart each time I see it and read the lyrics. I hope you will like it too.

Next, I did an acrylic mini album. The kit also came with a sheet of Hambly. If you don't know what this is, it is basically a clear 12x12 acylic sheet of scrapbook paper. So fun! It was divided into 4 sections. So I cut the sheet into 4th's to make the individual pages of my album. I think I will give this as a gift for Christmas to someone in my family this year. I used more embellishment and papers from the kit to decorate the album, that way the recipient just has to journal and add a few photo's of their choice. This really was so quick and easy to do. Cristal even produced a little video with her class that I watched to help me get going. But this really was so easy! Yall gotta try it!!! Here it is:

I appreciate each of you stopping by! I hope you all have had a great weekend and have a great week! Take care! Hugs!

Well, it looks like a bad weekend for football

Hey yall! How are ya? Well, if you don't know by now, we are some big football fans in my family. It's been a bad weekend for it too! Our high school team lost last night at the state finals and Alabama is losing the SEC Championship. It's sad, but something that is not new. I've dealt with my share of defeat in my life, believe me. It seems like it's at every turn. But through it, I've learned to be thankful and push on. I am so proud of the Tide this year. They played really good and just were not the best team tonite. So it's a sad day. I don't even feel like scrapbooking. That's how much football means to us here. So I hope all of you are having a great weekend! I hope to recover quickly. Atleast we will go to a bowl game. So ROLL TIDE anyways! I'm proud of ya! Yall take care and God Bless!

Hey yall! Well, I've been cardmaking all day today. I started out to do some challenges for the various scrapbook message boards I do, but ended up doing cards. Isn't that funny? I was just itchin' to play with two of the newer Cricut carts I have: Home Decor and Wild Card. Wild Card is actually my mom's. She loaned it to me, but now I must say, I gotta have it! It is awesome! Not only can you make too cute cards, but all the features on there! It's great! So, on to the cards I made today. I scanned all of these since the camera is dead, so maybe you can tell.

"Adore"
This is the first card I did. I used the Home Decor cart for the chandelier and the word 'adore.' I also used the Cuttlebug Mosaic embossing folder and some distress ink. Last, some stickles for bling.

The inside of the card:

"Happy Birthday"
Ok, this one looks SO much better in person. I used the Home Decor cart for the cool looking cupcake. The paper behind it is light blue metallic paper that I embossed with the Cuttlebug Music Notes folder, but when the scanner scanned it, you can see what it did. Sorry for that part. I also added some stickles to the frosting.

The inside of the card:

"Love Birds"
I also used the Home Decor cart for this one. I cut out these cute little birds. Aren't they too cute? I love them! They remind me of one of my fave birds...a peacock. I stickled them in different colors. I also cut out the word 'love.' Then, I used a Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Punch.

"Gingerbread House"

Ok, next, I decided to play with the Wild Card cart. This cart is so cool! You can cut these cute little shaped cards and then coordinating envie's! LOVE IT!!! This first card is a cute little house. I decided since Christmas time is here, I would make my house a 'gingerbread house.' The coordinating envie is a door. How cute! The envie is on the left and the card is on the right. Also, on the card, the little door actually opens! If you open the door, you are greeted by a cute little gingerbread man! Ok, I'm gigglin here! I have to tell yall...I was gigglin the whole time I did these Wild Card one's. Too much fun! Ha ha!

"Hoooope You Have A Very Merry Christmas"

Ok, I saved my favorite for last! Oh, I wish yall could see this one in person. It is just too darn cute! I mean cute!!!! I LOVE it! Did I meantion that? I love it! This first pic is of the owl shaped card. Yall know how I love any birds, but especially owls. So this was right up my alley! This was so easy and quick to pull together too. Gotta love that! All I did to the owl to jazz him up a bit was to use distress ink and some stickles. So here is the owl card up close:

Then here is the cute little envie that goes with! Now yall tell me if that envie isn't too cute! It folds up into the tree! I think it is too darlin'!

Then I scanned this so you could kind of see how the envie opens up to reveal the card. Hope you can get a better visual of it:

Ok, that is all for me today. I had so much fun making all these cards. I appreciate you stopping by and let me know what you think if you want to! I would love to hear from ya! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. See you tomorrow! Hugs!

TGIF! Whoo hoo!

Hey yall! How are you today? Thank Goodness it's Friday! Yay! Well, I am happy to report I am 100% better! Yay! No more sickness! Yay!!! I also did get to scrap some yesterday. I did an acrylic LO and an acrylic mini album. My camera is dead, but as soon as I get some batteries (hopefully today) I will post some pix of what I did. I really had fun working with the acrylic. I had never worked with it before, but it was so fun. I have soooo many challenges that I would like to do this month, so I think this acrylic LO I did will do triple duty for me as 3 challenges on Treasured Scrapbooking and Just Scrappin'. Gotta love that! But anyways, what are all of you up to this weekend? A big weekend in football for us. My home town high school team is in the state finals tonite! Go Tigers! We go often, but never win. I hope we will this year! Then Saturday, Alabama plays for the SEC title game. Again, as always, we are the underdogs, but still gotta root on your team, right?! So a huge ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!! Hope all of you are having a great weekend so far! Take care and happy scrappin'! I hope to get some more work done! Pix to come asap! Hugs!

'On the Mend' Wednesday

Hi yall! How are you doing today? Well, I am happy to report, I think I'm on the mend. I woke up today and felt a lot better than yesterday. I think I am going to still take it a little easier than normal just to be sure, but I think I may be past this awful mess! Yay! I want to try to clean up the house a little and do some laundry. If I feel up to it, I might try to scrap this evening. Or atleast unpack my scrappy stuff from Monday. I hope to be back in full force by the end of the week. I hate being slowed down, but I had to rest. Hope all of you are doing good and having a great week! Take care!

Cropped With Michele Today

Hey yall! How are ya today? Good I hope! I got to crop with my good friend Michele today at her house. I just love scrapping with her. We have so much in common and like alot of the same stuff. We had such a good time! Thank you to Michelle! I appreciate it!!!

I got 2 layouts done. This first one is for a project on JS. We are making an album for someone in the hospital. Here is my LO for the book. Isn't that little bird adorable? I'm in love! It's on a new cart I have called Home Decor. Love it! The flourish and word 'faith' are from Home Accent's. This is my first ever 8x8 LO. The album will be 8x8. It is different for me, but fun.

Then, I did this LO for Carter. His new word is 'hilarous.' But he prounounces it 'hi-lair-wious!' He is so funny! Love that child to pieces! So this one is for him! If he gets to see it, let him know how much Aunt Mamie loves him with all her heart!!! I cut the title out with one of Michele's carts, which I now know I must have! LOL! We are all a bunch of enablers, let me tell you.

Thanks for stopping by! I am gonna take a day off tomorrow. I may even stay in my jammies! I am still not over this sickness. I ended up going to the ER on the way home from our crop. I got some antibiotics, so hopefully, with some rest, I can get over this mess! Please pray for all us sick one's! Several of the girls on Just Scrappin are sick too. Also, say a special prayer for my friend on JS, Jenny. Thanks yall! Take care! Stay warm! Hugs!

Popaw's Boy

Hello everyone! Well, here is the last LO for the day. I did this double LO for a sketch challenge on DIY. I used my new Cricut Home Decor cart for it. The large ric rac ribbon is from my friend, Jess, at DIY. Please excuse the pic. It is the last one I could get before the camera died. Please, oh please, Santa bring me a new camera for Christmas!!! I need one sooo bad! Thanks for looking! Yall take care and have a great rest of the evening! I'm off to crop with a friend tomorrow, so I'll be back tomorrow night! :)

Red Velvet

Hey everyone! I wanted to post this LO for yall. I am using this LO for 2 challenges: one on Just Scrappin' and one on Treasured Scrapbooking. Both challenges were to do a LO on food. So I had to choose my favorite, Red Velvet Cake! Yum! Me and mom made this cake for Thanksgiving, so I had to stage it for a photo. I also made the little slice of cake that is next to it. I cut it out using the Wild Card Cricut cartridge. As for the LO, I used the Home Accents, Storybook, Christmas Solutions, and Home Decor cartridges. I also used the D'Vine Swirl and Swiss Dots Embossing folders for some dimension. The gold lettering and gold dots are Thickers. Also, I journaled with a gold pen. A note you might not can see, I wrote the recipe for this delicious cake around the edge of the LO so that future generations can enjoy it too!!! Thanks for stopping by. Hope everyone is having a great evening! I'm off to pack! I get to scrap with my friend Michelle tomorrow! Yay!!! Take care everyone!
