Just A Quick FYI....

Hey guys! I wanted to try to hop online right quick to let you know why I have gone MIA. My laptop, which is the computer in our home, has picked up one nasty virus. I have it in with the tech guy right now being fixed, but have not heard anything back from him. I know I have emails and SVG requests from some of you and I will respond to those as soon as I can get my laptop back....which I hope it soon!!! It is just driving me bonkers!!! We are working on getting our ancient desktop computer up and working though, so hopefully I can get caught up more soon. I just wanted to pop online right quick to let you know I hadn't fallen off the face of the earth. Since I have no laptop, I have been doing a lot of scrappin' and will share that as soon as I can. Yall have a great rest of the week and thanks for bearing with me! Happy Scrappin!

Pushing Up Daisies

Happy Monday Morning! And how are you on this sunny, Monday morning? I hope you are having a wonderful day so far. I am up and at 'em bright and early. I wanted to go ahead and share with you what we are working on this week at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are creating projects with our favorite flower. I chose to work with daisies. To be perfectly honest though, my absolute favorite flower is the stargaizer lily, but I had no idea how I could scrap it. I do not have any svg's that are close to it or any pix. So I went to my next favorite...a daisy. I decided to make a little cookie container with ribbon lid. I found the pattern for this container at My Scrap Chick in a set called '30 Boxes & More.' I also cut these daisies out using a My Scrap Chick freebie Friday pattern. If anyone would like the flower svg, shoot me an email (aymee810@yahoo.com) and I'll forward it to ya since it was a freebie. I embossed each set of petals with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I cut out the bees using the Cricut Home Decor' cartridge. I cut the phrase 'pushing up daisies' out using my SCAL software. The grass is a Martha Stewart Icicle border punch turned upside down. I also added in some Stickles, rhinestones, and drew with a white gel pen. I used Helmar Scrap Dots to secure all but one of my daisies to the top of the lid. LOVE that stuff...so sturdy! For the center flower, I used Helmar Zap Dots to pop it up a bit for added dimension. Here is my project:
Up close of my daisies. There are 3 layers of petals to each flower. I added a yellow circle to the center of each and stickled that. I also chose to add a small bee to the center of the largest daisy.
I had to take these pix inside since it was dark outside. This next pic is a bit dark, but it shows the embossing better, so I thought I would share it.
See how the flowers pop up? I love these daisies! I also bent up the edges of my grass.
That is all from me today. If you can, do hop on over to The Cuttlebug Spot to check out the other floral creations my fellow DT sista's have created! :) I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend!!! Thanks for droppin' by my blog today! Happy Scrappin!

By The Seashore

Hey guys! Happy Thursday!!! I hope you all are having a FABULOUS day today! Are we ready for the weekend?! Oh yeah! I know I am! I hope to get some scrappy shopping in, but we will see. Shhh! Don't tell Brandon! He doesn't need to know! ROFL! Anyways, I have a layout I wanted to share with you today. I sat down to scrap last night and decided to dig once again into the fabulous April kit from Scrapbook Circle. I just love this kit. I love all of the American Crafts Dear Lizzy goodies. The colors remind me of warm spring days and fresh, salty sea air. So I decided to pull out a beach picture and scrap that. I started with some Coredinations cardstock...of which I am a huge fan! I sanded the edges a bit. I love roughing up this paper, especially for beach pages. It just reminds me of the rustic, shabby wood you would see on a beach pier or deck. I'm just totally in love with the look it gives! Everything on the page, with the exception of the cardstock, alphas (Pink Paislee), and bling are from my personal scrappy stash. I'm still on the mission of trying to use up some older supplies that I have. Also, of course, what is a page without some Helmar love? You know I used it! I used the Adhesive Runner on the whole page, as well as some Scrap Dots, and some Zap Dots. Here is the page:
"By The Seashore"
Up close of pic...Carter was such a little beach cutie! This is him and my Mom. Isn't my Mom hot?! Tee Hee! She is always dressed up so cute and is such a pretty lady. Now, if I could only have her teeny tiny frame and be a skinny minni, I'd be so happy! LOL! :) Love ya Mom!
(p.s. And ya know? I noticed, after I took and uploaded these pix of course, that my butterfly is covering up my 'y' on the word 'by.' So I think I will move it down a bit so you can see the 'y' better. So visualize it down a bit.)
I spritzed these butterflies, which were cut out with the Cuttlebug, with some Glimmer Mist in 'coffee shop.' I am new to Glimmer Mist as well and I LOVE this stuff! Awesome!
More dimension....Well, that is all from me today. I hope to sit down to scrap some more today and this weekend. I hope I can get a lot done to share with ya. I thank each of you for taking a moment to stop by today! I hope you all have a beautiful day and a wonderful weekend! Take care of yourselves and Happy Scrappin'!!!!!

Cuttlebug Spot Monday and a RAK

Hey guys! Happy Monday! This week at The Cuttlebug Spot we have quite the unique challenge! We are creating projects based on one of our favorite movies or tv shows. Well, I have these adorable Wizard of Oz SVG files from Little Scraps of Heaven for quite some time and I just couldn't wait to use them! All of the characters are these cute little bears...so a bit different, but totally adorable! I just love them and had a ball creating this layout. I worked on this page for over 4 days, but it was a labor of love! The 'emerald city' svg was a free svg posted on Little Scraps of Heaven. The files for the characters can be purchased through the Little Scraps of Heaven store. As for the rainbow and 'wizard of oz' title, I made those myself. If you would like those, drop me an email to aymee810@yahoo.com and I will pass them a long to you.
So, I started out with the intentions to make a Wizard of Oz card, but ended up creating this 12x12 layout. I thought the layout would look good as the cover of an album or put into a 12x12 frame and displayed. I used the Swiss Dots, D'Vine Swirl, and Distressed Stripes embossing folders on this project. I also used lots of my favorite...Stickles glitter glue. I really wanted it to be blingy. I used some Gemstones cardstock to cut out Emerald City so that it would shimmer like it does in the movie. I also brought in oodles and oodles of Helmar Zap dots to pop several of the images up off the page. Here is the full layout:
(you can click on these images to make them larger if you want....)
To show embossing and dimension:
Title
The Wicked WitchThe Good Witch
Dorothy and Toto
Tin Man
Lion
Scarecrow

Now, for the news!!!! Do you like the project you see above?? I hope someone out there will because I am giving this away!!! I worked so hard on this and used top quality products. But, I wanted to host another RAK and give something from my heart. So this is it. So, if you would like to be entered in the drawing for this, just leave a comment on this post. Please leave me an email addy or blog addy where I can get in touch with you if you are the winner!! I will randomly select one winner on Saturday, April 24th. That's this Saturday. Good luck all!

As always, thanks for stoppin' by! Have a marvelous week and Happy Scrappin'!!!

Creatin' Cards

Hey yall! Happy Thursday!!! I hope your day is going by great! The weekend is almost here! Whoo hoo!!! I have been playing with the April Kit from Scrapbook Circle and wanted to share what I finished with ya. This kit is filled with all sorts of American Crafts goodies! I love it!!! I finished up 3 cards.

"Hi: A Splendid, Lovely Day"

I have been wanting to make another easel card, so I chose to do so with this one. The chipboard bird is included in the kit. I covered it using Helmar V2 Spray adhesive with some leftover patterned paper scraps. I used Helmar Zap Dots to pop the birds wing up a tad. I used Helmar Adhesive runner for the card, as well as Helmar Scrap Dots for the flowers. The teal paper is Coredinations cardstock. I sanded the edges a tad. I love that cardstock! It gives such a great vintage look.

Up close of my bird...the alphas are American Crafts as well, but not included in the kit. They were pulled from my personal scrappy stash. I picked these up for $1.50 at a discount scrappy store!!!The sticker is from the kit. The flowers are included with the add-on's that go with kit. I cut the yellow shape out using the Home Decor' cartridge.

"Go Fly A Kite"
For this next card, the kite idea was scraplifted from our talented Jill at SBC. She cut some of the patterned paper that is in the kit to look like kites. I just love the idea and wanted to give it a try. Thanks to Jill for the scrappy inspiration!!!
The alphas are Jenni Bowlin and are from my own scrappy stash...
I used my Martha Stewart Icicle Border punch to create my grass. I inked it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peeled Paint. The banner sticker is also in the kit add-on's.
To show dimension...
"Oh, Let the Sunshine In & Face It With A Grin"

I created this shaped card using my SCAL software and Cricut Expression.
The blue cardstock and sticker are from the kit. The rest was pulled from my own scrappy stash: cardstock, Stickles, and bling.
Well, that is all for me today. I am off to try and finish a project I have been working on for a few days. It will be debuted Monday, as it is for The Cuttlebug Spot. Hint...it has to do with The Wizard of Oz and if you are a fan, stay tuned....I will be RAK'ing this project away to one Wizard of Oz fan! :)

Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Scrappin'!

Bring On The Bling At The Cuttlebug Spot & Some Big News!!!

Hey guys! Happy Monday to you! I hope your week is getting off to a fabulous start! We are 'bringing on the bling' this week at The Cuttlebug Spot. We are adding all sorts of Stickles, rhinestones, etc. to our projects. For my project this week I wanted to do a bit of double duty...that's always nice, right?!! :) I was recently contacted by my absolute favorite site for SVG's (for use with SCAL), My Scrap Chick, and asked to design with some of their files. Of course I had to say yes! They have just about the most adorable things! It is all really cutesy and I love it! I used their 'Tooth Fairy' (you'll have to scroll down a bit on that link to see the files) set of files to create this little shaped card. I cut out all that you see using my Cricut Expression and SCAL software. As for The Cuttlebug Spot, I used the Swiss Dots and D'Vine Swirl embossing folders. For the bling, I brought in an assortment of rhinestones and Stickles glitter glue. I know it may be a bit off before Carter starts to lose his baby teeth, but as soon as he loses the first one, Aunt Mamie will sent him some money in this little card. Tee Hee! Here it is: (you can click on the pic if you want to make it bigger so you can see better)

Second up, I wanted to do some more projects for 'My Scrap Chick.' So I decided to play with two of their book files, 'Critter Books' and 'Sweet Animal Books'. These can make cute little books, but also double great as shaped cards. Yall know how much I adore shaped cards!!! This first one is the 'lamb' book from the Sweet Animal Book set. I made this card for my Daddy. His 60th bday is on April 15th. I used SCAL and a font called 'Mr. and Mrs. Popsicle' to cut out the phrase I love 'ewe' for the inside. Here is the front:

Here is a view of the back and inside of the book. I used Helmar Zap Dots to pop up some of the features on this card.

Next, I made card for my nephew, Carter. His birthday was April 11 and he turned 5 years old! I can't believe it! This snail is from the 'Critter Books.' I just love both sets of the books that they have. The critters are just the cutest. But I think the snail may be one of my personal faves. I used a Peachy Keen face stamp to stamp the faces on both of these cards. Here is the front of the snail card:
Here is the view of the back of the snail card. I used Colorbox Chalk Inks on the edges of each piece.

I had a lot of fun making these cards. I am in a 'cutesy' type of mood here lately. I am working on another shaped card for another special little boy, but it will have to wait. I need to get it sent off so the recipient can receive it before I post it. But I'll have it up asap.

Next, I wanted to share some exciting news with you. I am now a member of the design team at Scrapstreet!!!! I am so excited and can't wait to work with all of the phenominal artists over there!!!!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope each of you have a fabulous day!!! Take care of yourselves and Happy Scrappin'!!!

Guest Design Work for My Little Sketch Blook & Some Exciting News From Cri-Kits!!!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are enjoying a peaceful, relaxing weekend! I know I sure am! I have been chillin', scrappin', and catching up on laundry. I am excited about the week ahead...I'm not sure why though. I just feel happy!!! :) Yay! That's always a good thing! Anywho, I have some news to share. I am doing a little guest design team work for a fabulous blog called 'My Little Sketch Blook'. This blog is ran by a lady named Liz and her sketches are phenominal!!!! If you haven't checked it out, please do so. I know I get in a rut every now and then and I love to turn to sketches to help me out. The sketches that Liz creates are some of my fave!!! For today's layout, Liz sent me this sketch to work with...isn't it awesome?! I love how versatile it is! I also really loved how it has 3 pix on it, but it is not too busy. As an artist, I find that I have the hardest time adding more than 1-2 photos on a layout because I fear it will look too busy. But this sketch relieved that fear!!

Here is my layout, "Beach Boy," that I created using the sketch. For this sketch, I followed it pretty closely. I added some cutwork owls (cut from some American Crafts patterned paper) instead of flowers since this page was of my nephew. Although I have used flowers on boy pages before, I just wanted to use the owls on this one. I love these owls! They look so funky and make me smile. The bottom decorative edge on the sketch had my Martha Stewart Loop Border Punch calling my name, so I had to pull it out and use it. I used my sewing machine for the zig zag rectangle as well to secure my decorative ribbon. I used some Helmar Zap Dots to pop some of the owls up for dimension. I also used the Helmar Adhesive Runner for the layout. All patterned paper that you see is American Crafts, as well as the alpha's. The die cut is from Collage Press.
He was so funny at the beach! His hair went all wild and some of the faces he made just cracks me up! Such a silly little boy!
Here is a up close pic to show some of the dimension of the 3-D Zap Dots and ribbon....
Be sure to hop on over to My Little Sketch Blook to check out the other guest designers take on the sketch and for lots of scrappy inspo!!!

Also, I have some awesome news for my fellow Cricut lovers! Cri-Kits, the makers of the fabulosu Cri-Kit Gelly Pens I've been telling yall about, have a FABULOUS new product out....A Cri-Kits Embosser. This new product will allow you to emboss using your Cricut machine! Isn't that just the bees knees?!!! Tee Hee! This new product is going to be so awesome! I cannot wait to get my hands on one and try it out!! These are available for pre-order soon! So keep an eye out!! Oooh, and they have another very special product that they will be announcing soon!!! Yippee! I'll be sure to clue you guys in as soon as they put it up! :)

As always, thanks for stoppin' by my blog! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! Happy Scrappin'!

Altered Wire Dress Form

Mornin' Yall! Happy Thursday!!! I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far! I was up bright and early this morning. I just could not sleep. So I got up, straightened up the house, and made breakfast for my hubby. I need to make some cards today, but first I wanted to share a project that I finished up yesterday with ya. I have been wanting to alter a wire dress form forever and am sooo glad I finally did! I love these and I can't wait to put this one on my scrappy desk! I think I'll try making more later on for gifts, but this one is mine. Of course, yall know me, I love peacocks and I love anything glam. So that is the theme I went with for this dress form. My husband says it is very "Moulin Rouge'ish"....if that is even a word! LOL!

Of course, I had to use my FAVORITE adhesives on this project. I want this to last a long time, so I turned to Helmar. I used their 450 Adhesive, Craft Glue, Scrap Dots, Adhesive Runner, and Zap Dots for this project. Everything is so sturdy and I am so glad. I cut a sheet of purple cardstock into 12x1" strips. This is what forms the 'bottom' of the 'dress'. I wanted the top to look like a feather bodice, so I added some of these super cute peacock feather combinations I found at Hobby Lobby. I also added in some black fur trim, patterned paper, and tulle. I used my Cricut Expression to cut a butterfly to add to the back.

First, here is the front of the dress form. I know this pic is small, but it is as big as Blogger would allow. But, if you will click on the picture (which I recommend so you can see all the detail of this project), it will bring it up big for ya. Then just click on the back button to return to this post. :)
Up close view of the feather bodice. These feathers came in a pack of 3 at Hobby Lobby for $2.99!!! Can't beat that!
I love the shape of this wire form that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I used my 40% off coupon and got this for under $10. It is about a foot and half tall. I love how it cinches at the lower leg. I used the fur trim, a strip of patterned paper, and tulle to accent that. I then curled out the edges of my cardstock 'skirt'.
Here is a view of the back of the dress form. I wanted it to be a 'backless' dress, so I did not add anything to the top of the form. I contemplated adding some ribbon straps, but decided against it.Here is the butterfly I added to the back up close. I cut this with the Cricut Storybook cartridge. I used Stickles to add some bling.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. I sure had a ball making this dress form. I am so girly and things like this are my passion. I can't wait to make another!!! I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend! Take care and Happy Scrappin'!!!!

More SBC Reveals....

Hey yall! I hope you are having a fabulous day today! I first want to apologize for going MIA. I had a rough weekend and lost my scrappy mojo. I have a lot on my mind and needed to take some time off. But I am doing better this week and finished up 2 layouts yesterday that I wanted to share with ya today. I am still working with the AMAZING April Kit from Scrapbook Circle. This kit is beyond yummy! I just love all of the goodies with it. I also purchased the 'add-ons' that go along with this kit and have to say they are a must. All of the American Crafts 'Dear Lizzy' ribbons, crochet flowers, and stickers are beyond cute!! First up, I created this page of my nephew Carter and his first trip to the beach. I know I have scrapped these pix before for my own use, but I am now scrappin' some for my Mom. So these 2 pages are for her. She sends me pix to scrap with and then I give the pages to her. It is working out great because she has the pix she wants scrapped and I don't have to keep them in my house. Even though I adore all pix of him, I just do not have enough room for all of the layouts I do of him. Anyways, everything you see, with the exception of the brads, is from the kit and add-ons. Also, I pulled out my favorite Helmar adhesives for this layout. I used the adhesive runner and Scrap Dots for this page.

"Sandy Cheeks"

He was such a little cutie!!!

I adhered these flowers with Helmar Scrap Dots! Another Helmar project I am lovin'!

I pleated some of the October Afternoon paper...

Second up, I wanted to scrap Carter's first haircut. He was such a doll after that first cut! I miss this age so much! Can you believe he will be 5 years old this Saturday?!!!!! Oh my! I can't!

"First Haircut"

I used Helmar Zap Dots on the little birdie embellishment to pop it up off the page. I also used Helmar adhesive runner on this page as well.

Everything except the alphas are included with the kit and add ons. The alphas are some Thickers from my own scrappy stash.

Well, that is all from me today. I am off to start on a altered wire dress form. I have an idea of how I want it to turn out in my head. I hope it will come out like that though! LOL

Have a fabulous day and thanks for stoppin' by! Take care and Happy Scrappin'!

Altered Rolling Pin Kitchen Decor'

Hey guys! TGIF! Whoo hoo! So glad the weekend is here! IDK why...I do not have a thing planned except staying at home and scrapping, but I always just feel happier on the weekend! Anywho, today I have an altered project to share with you today. It is an altered rolling pin. Now, I have to tell ya this is a total lift. One of my best gal pals, Cristal, created this awesome altered rolling pin and I just had to try one myself. So I asked Cristal if she would let me lift the idea. Of course, being the total sweetie she is, she did not mind at all. So a BIG thank you to my girl Cristal for letting me scraplift and for the awesome inspiration! Love ya gf!

I purchased my rolling pin at Wal Mart. I covered it with some fruity themed paper from K & Co. that I have had for such a long time. I have really been trying to use up some of my older stash and was so glad to use this. I adhered everything you see with that awesome adhesive known as Helmar 450!!!! OMG! I thought I was in love before, but I really am now! This is just the best thing! It made this project so easy and so sturdy!!! Love love LOVE Helmar 450!!! Here is a view of the project.

(Click on the picture to make it bigger so you can see if ya need to! :) )

Up close....

I cut out the 'kitchen' with the Cricut 'From My Kitchen' cartridge. Brandon bought me this cart yesterday! They have them on sale for $39.99 at Joann if you are in the market for a Cricut cartridge. I have been eyeing this cart forever and was so thankful to finally get it! I can't wait to work with it some more!

For the edges, I pleated paper. This was another one of Cristal's clever ideas. I love the pleat look. I used some Fiskars decorative scissors for the edges.

For this next part, I recruited the hubby's help. He drilled 4 holes into the bottom of my rolling pin and then added the hooks. I hung 4 measuring spoons (1 T, 1 t, 1/2 t, and 1/4 t) on the hooks. I found these hooks at The Dollar Spot as you walk in Target. Can't beat it for a buck!

I hope you have enjoyed this project! I know I definitely enjoyed making it! I can't wait to put out my cherry dishes on my table and add this to the decor'!

As always, thanks for stopping by today! Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Scrappin'!
