This Too Shall Pass

Hey y'all! It's Monday night and I wanted to check in with a little update on my Katie Scarlett. As many of you know, she had her spay surgery today. Everything went well with the surgery and she is now at home resting comfortably. She is groggy and a little sore, but Mommy is tending to her every need. I am pampering her as much as I can. Daddy has to work tonite, so Mommy is going to sleep in the den with her where it is easier for her to get to her pee pee pad. I am going to blow up the air mattress and sleep in the floor beside her so I'll be there for whatever she needs. I gotta take care of my precious angel!

Here are some pix I took of her. She is sleeping peacefully. I keep telling her that 'this too shall pass.'
Even in dreamland, that face is still the most precious sight I ever saw!
She woke up toward the end of me snapping pix. I can see in her eyes that she doesn't feel very good. I wish I could take the pain away and feel it for her. I'd do anything to make her feel like her old self. But I know it takes time and she will be back to her Katie Scarlett self in a few days. But Mommy still wishes she could take the pain away. I tell you guys, this dog (my child, as I say) has really taught me the true meaning of unconditional love. I mean, I love my husband, my parents, and my whole family with ever fiber in my body...but this girl means more to me than I ever can explain! I love her so much and I would do anything for her! I pray that she is with us a long, long time. She is a blessing from above!
And last, but not least, I tinkered in Photoshop with one of the pix. Katie Scarlett wanted me to tell the world that her recovery is a bit sweeter thanks to dreams of her sweet boyfriend, Peyton! Tee hee!
Night night all! Have a great day tomorrow!

I must be a total nut, but I have tears in my eyes just reading your post. I feel the same way about my little Cookie. We will have to get her spayed this year and I know I am going to be the same way. Its hard to put your baby through pain, but you know its the best for them.
I hope your little girl heals quickly. I'll be waiting for an update.

Ok... I have to say that reading your post did give me a little chuckle. Simply because we are just as obsessed with our little ones as you are. Hee! Hee! We are really protective of ours as well. I remember when I had Glitch (he has been gone for a couple of years now), he had to have a cancer surgery. I was so worried and it did cost and absolute fortune. His recovery was a lot longer on me than it was him, but it gave me another 6 wonderful years with him... it's all worth it. They add so much more to our lives than they will ever realize.
