Meet Wendy & Wade

Hey y'all! Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! I have spent the day cropping online via Skype with my BFF, my Mom. We have had such a blast! We both have been making tags. You see, we both signed up for a tag swap on a scrappy message board and thought it would be fun to work on the together. So that is what we did and we both completed our first set of tags today! Yay! Here is what I came up with:

"Summer Fun" Tag
Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon
Ribbon: American Crafts, Ribbon FX (Hobby Lobby)
Border Punch: Martha Stewart Crafts
Stamp: Studio G
Ink: Stampin' Up!
Staples: Swingline
Electronic Cutter, Cartridges: Cricut (Provo Craft); Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More
Electronic Cutting Software: Sure Cuts A Lot (Craft Edge)
SVG Files: My Scrap Chick, Beachy Kids (Wendy & Wade)

I thought for my first set of tags, I would try to do something cutesy. So I turned to a new set of SVG files I purchased from My Scrap Chick. These are just the cutest! Their names are Wendy and Wade. You can find them HERE if you are interested (scroll down a bit to see). They are just so adorable and make me giggle each time I look at them. I cut them at a 3 inch and let me tell you, those little bikini and swimming trunk pieces are teeny tiny! My tweezers were my best friend today!
The tag itself, which was cut with the TBBM cartridge is a little over 5 1/2 inches long. I added in some ribbon at the top and used my stapler to attach it. I also added in some patterned paper for a splash of color. I stamped the sentiment, which is something I rarely do. I don't think I've stamped in over 6 months. I left the back of the tags blank so that the swap recipients could leave as is or use the back for journaling purposes for a layout.
Aren't Wendy & Wade a perfect pair? They remind me of the 'Jillibean' files from My Scrap Chick. I love these files that look like this. They are so different from the norm, or they were for me. Tee Hee!
As you can see, I made not one, not two, but 10 of these babies for the swap. Tomorrow I will make 10 more of a different nature. I am thinking something more formal, elegant, shabby chic-ish. I want to go in a total different direction from these so that my tags will be a variety. I hope the other swapee's (is that a word? LOL) will like these tags. I thought they would be good for summer cards, summer/beach layouts, or maybe to add to a summertime present.
That is all for me today. I'm off to rest. I am about worn out for the day. See you tomorrow!
And again, Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!
Thanks for visiting my blog and Happy Scrappin' to you!
