Happy Tuesday!!! I hope yall are havin' a great day! I'm gonna try to make this short and sweet today. I had a dr. appt. today and ended up having to have blood drawn. My arm is killing me! Ugh! Hate that!

'So Happy'

'Our Little Pebbles'
This layout is for this week's Survivor challenge at Tallyscrappers. I designed the cherry with Inkscape and used SCAL to cut with. The challenge required you to use paint and to stamp with somethine other than a stamp. I used paint and stamped with cardboard.

Halloween Board Book

Happy Monday!!! Ready for a new week? I am! I've got a lot to get finished up this week and am ready to be done!!! As always, Monday means we have a new challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are creating 'Fall' projects. Here is the link to the blog if you would like to check out the other DT's fabulous projects!!!

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

This week's project is extra special for me because I used my SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) and Inkscape software to create this Halloween board book. It is such a great feeling to have an idea in your head and see the finished product. The files of the actual images were created by Amy from the SCAL forum. But now, thanks to her and several others on there, I now know how to create my own files. I have bitten by the SCAL bug and am loving to create my own! I have even set up a blog especially for my files, which are all free!!! So if you would like any free files, look to the right and you can click on my 'SVG blog.' I used the following Cuttlebug folders this week: Swiss Dots, Script, Pumpkins, Spiderweb, and Spots-n-Dots. I also used some Stickles glitter glue on the characters. I used some skull printed ribbon to tie all of these together. I did not have any rings, but the ribbon seems to do just fine. I really want a Bind It All, but that will have to wait. Maybe soon I can purchase one. Here is the book:

As always, thanks for stoppin' by today. I hope you enjoy this project. I sure had a lot of fun making it!!! I can't wait to add some Halloween pictures to it!!! Have a wonderful week and Happy Scrappin'!!!!

Unscripted Sketches #25-Thank You Dear

Hey yall! It's Saturday and that means another sketch at Unscripted Sketches!!! Yippie!!! Here is the link for you...come on over and join us!!!

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

I decided to make a card this week. This one is real simple, but I just love the little deer. I found the deer on the Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) forum. I do not remember where I found it on there though. If you want it, shoot me a email at aymee810@yahoo.com and I can email you the SVG file. I used the SCAL software with my Cricut to cut the deer. I used my Cuttlebug and the Spots & Dots folder to emboss the cardstock behind it. I also brought in some bling and lace. I cut out the phrase 'Thank You Dear' for the inside. Here it is:

Hope to see you join us! Thanks for stoppin' by my blog today! Enjoy your weekend! Happy Scrappin'!

Some books for my Mom....

Hey guys! How are you doing today? I have been working on creating my very own wordbooks. I have created one of these before, but had someone else to cut it for me. So when I got SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot), I knew I wanted to try to do my own soon. Well, Mom was the first person to ask me to create some for her to give as gifts and I was so glad to do so. Each month, all of the teachers get together and give a gift to the principal and assistant principal at the school they work at. This month, Mom suggested these word books. So we made one for each of them. The principal of the school has some boys who play football, so for her, I cut a wordbook in the font that matches our team's logo. Our mascot is a tiger. So I cut the word 'Tigers' out. I used Inkscape to design the books and cut them out using my Cricut machine and SCAL software. My Mom is decorating the 'Tigers' wordbook. I have posted a picture of it at the bottom of this post, mainly for her to see early since I had to mail these. I decorated the book for the assistant principal. She has a new baby and his name is 'Houston'. I used a font called 'cheri' for the lettering on this book and the 'New Arrival' Cricut cartridge for the embellishment. I inked all of the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in 'faded blue jeans.' I also added Stickles glitter glue to all of the embellishments for some bling. Now, I only decorated the book. The pages have NOT been attached to one another yet. My Mom is going to do that. So if you can, visualize (LOL) this put together with some binder rings and coordinating ribbon tied to the rings. So here is the book with the letters lined up:

Front of 'H'

Back of 'H'

Front of the first 'O'

Back of the first 'O'

Front of 'U'

Back of 'U'

Front of 'S'

Back of 'S'

Front of 'T'

Back of 'T'

Front of second 'O'

Back of second 'O'

Front of 'N'

Back of 'N'

Now this is just the blank book that say's 'Tigers' that my Mom will decorate.

I hope the principals will enjoy these. I put a lot of time and work into each book. It took at least an hour to design each book, 30 minutes to cut each book, and then I stayed up all night to decorate the 'Houston' book. I put at least 8 hours into it. But they are so FUN to make!!! I can't wait to make some more!!!!! I'm hoping Mom might ask me to make some for 'fall' or 'Christmas'.....hint hint Mom! LOL! As always, thanks for stopping by! Yall have a wonderful evening! Happy Scrappin'!

Smitten

Hey yall! How are ya doin' today? I hope you are all having a wonderful morning so far!!! I wanted to share this layout with you that I did for our first Survivor challenge on Tallyscrappers. The challenge this time was to:
1. Create an 8x8 layout ot put on a 12x12 page
2. Use the color green
3. Use a rub on
4. Use at least one circle
This was such a fun challenge!!!! I used papers pulled from the August card kit at Treasured Scrapbooking. My title is a rub on. I also brought in some pom pom trim, toile, staples, and stitching. The large die cut paper was cut with my Cricut using the SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) software. Here is the link to the file if you are interested:

http://imagesbyheatherm.wordpress.com/

It is the 4th or 5th post down. I posted the direct link to her blog because she also has some fabulous borders to go with this!!! Check it out! Also, thanks to Heather for sharing these!!! You rock gf!

Also, this is my parents on their recent cruise to Cozumel. Dinner is a formal occasion on the ship, so they are dressed up. It is so weird to see my Daddy dressed up like this. I usually see him in jeans and a t shirt. So he looks so cute!!!! Mom looked fabulous in her dress too! I think I will give this page to her for her cruise album. Here it is:

That is all for me today. I hope you have a great day!!! Thanks for stoppin' by!!! Happy Scrappin'!

skinnarmarINKy dINKy dINK skinarmarINKy do....I Love You

ROFL! Ok, I hope I'm not the only crazy gal out there who remembers the song referred to in my title of my post today!!! Do yall remember it??? It was from 'Sharon, Lois, and Bram's Elephant show'.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEEsX69iIxY

I watched this as a young tot and always loved it!! I don't know why I remembered it as I wrote this post, but it just hit home. Ha ha!

Anyways, if you notice, I was trying to get the word 'INK' across and that is because we are pulling out our ink pads for a fun technique this week at The Cuttlebug Spot. We are taking a trip down memory lane and visiting the very first challenge that we had....inking your Cuttlebug folders!!! It's safe, easy, and FUN!!! Here is a link to the blog for ya to check out the other DT's marvelous projects:

http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/

We'd love to have you join in on this challenge!! If you are curious on how to ink up your cuttlebug folders, like I was at first, here is a video tutorial I found on YouTube that was very helpful to me:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPaDiVxM64k

For my project this week, I created a card. I used my SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) to cut the mushroom, ladybugs, grass, and the word 'thank you.' I really am enjoying this new SCAL. It has to be one of my fave presents ever!!! The possibilities are just endless!!! If you are interested in any of these cuts, here they are:
1. mushroom http://lshdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/08/free-mushroom-svg-pattern.html
2. ladybug #1 http://svgfiles.blogspot.com/2009/07/another-ladybug.html
3. ladybug #2 http://svgfiles.blogspot.com/2009/07/ladybug.html
4. grass border http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=5201&p=27686&hilit=grass+border#p27686
5. 'thank you' - cut with a font called 'cheri' that I downloaded from dafont.com

I used the inking technique on the D'Vine Swirl, Swiss Dots, and Spiderweb folders. I also brought in some stitching. Some if it is kinda funky, but I like the look it gives. I also used some Stickles glitter glue on the lettering and black dots of the ladybugs. I used some Tim Holtz distress ink in 'peeled paint' on the grass. The plaid paper is from Die Cuts With A View. It is glittered cardstock, but not sure if you will be able to see the glittery part. Here is the card....I hope you like it. This was so fun to make!

So if you would like to, come on over to The Cuttlebug Spot and join in on this fun challenge! We'd love to see what you can do!!!
As always my friends, I thank you for stopping by my blog today!!!!! I hope you have a wonderful week and Happy Scrappin'!!!!

Unscripted Sketches #24

Hey yall! Happy Saturday!! I hope you are enjoying a great weekend! We have a fun, new sketch for you on Unscripted Sketches. Hop on over and join us. Here is the link for ya:

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

This week I decided to create an altered project with the sketch. I altered a metal cookie sheet to use in my scrappy area as a magnet board. I used my Cricut and the SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) software to cut the 'southernbelle silhouettes' and the title. There is a lady on the SCAL forum who designed the silhouette for me. It is a belle from the side with her bonnet on. The font is called 'Brock Script.' I used Plantin' Schoolbook to cut my circles. The patterned paper is from the K & Co. Amy Butler line. I also added some velvet trim, pom pom trim, and Stickles. After decorating the cookie sheet, I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch 2 holes in the top to thread toile' through for the hanging mechanism. Here it is:

Thanks for lookin'! Enjoy your day!!!
P.S. Also, check out the post below! I uploaded a layout late last night! :)

Treasured Scrapbooking Newsletter Reveal

Hey yall! How are ya? I wanted to share my newsletter contribution with ya. As a DT Member at Treasured Scrapbooking, we are required each month to write an article for the newsletter. This month I chose to do 'Lift Lane.' This is where you go into the gallery at Treasured Scrapbooking and find a layout to lift. I decided to lift this beautiful layout from our talented 'Jeune Girl.'

Here is my take on her layout. I used the September Kit #1 for my page.

If you haven't already, do visit Treasured Scrapbooking and sign up for the newsletter. Or if you shoot me an email at aymee810@yahoo.com, I will forward it to you. As always, thanks for stoppin' by! Happy Scrappin'!

Cottage Cutz Wednesdays at The Cuttlebug Spot

Howdy! How are ya doing on this beautiful day??? I hope you are well! Each Wednesday, we have what is called 'Cottage Cutz Wednesdays' at The Cuttlebug Spot where we feature a die from The Scrapping Cottage. This week I am showcasing the 'Gecko' die. I created a fun game for children called 'Gecko'n'......'Get Goin.' Tee Hee! I know it's a corny name, but fun for the kiddies. It is essentially a memory card game. So let's back up for a bit....do yall remember those memory card games we played as children? I played these all the time both at school and at home. I believe the one I played as a child was called 'Concentration.' The game is traditionally played on the floor, but any flat surface will do. The game can be played with one or more players. First, you place all of the cards face down. For each turn, the player will choose 2 cards and put them face up. If the cards match, the player gets to keep those cards. If the cards do not match, they both have to be turned back face down. The game is over when the last pair is picked up. If more than one player is playing, the player with the most pairs wins. Simple and a great way for kids to work on their concentration/memory.

So I created 12 cards, or 6 pairs, for my game. I used the gecko die from The Scrapping Cottage as my image and created 6 different patterns for the gecko. This die is great because the possibilities are endless. It is like getting several dies in one. Here is a link to the die if you are interested:

http://www.scrappingcottage.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=4801

Isn't that the cutest little gecko you've ever seen?!! I love it! It is super easy to use with the Cuttlebug.

Here are my cards, with 2 matching pairs facing up so you can see how it looks as the game is going on...

Here is the card face down. I used my SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) software to cut the "Gecko'n" phrase. This font is called 'Cheri.' The font uses a heart in place of the ' . I used some Stickles glitter glue on the heart to help separate the letters.

Here is each of the 6 designs I created using the die so you can see the possibilities. I used the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl folder on the background, the Doodlecharms cartridge for the sun, and the Martha Stewart icicle punch (turned upside down) for the grass. I plan on laminating these before giving them to a child. That way they will stay looking good. I need a laminator first though. I hope to purchase one soon.

I hope yall will like these. I worked very hard on them. It took me a few days to complete them. I hope kids will like it too. If you would like to see some more of the Cottage Cutz dies in action, visit The Cuttlebug Spot.

As always, thank you for stoppin' by today! Take care!!!
