Punk Rock Scrappers Challenge #2

Hey yall! I hope you are enjoying your Sunday evening. I have been trying to scrap some tonite. One of my bffs, Cristal, intro'd me to this blog called 'Punk Rock Scrappers', where she is a member of the DT. Here is the link:

The challenge was to scrap about how work can suck at times. Well, being a stay at home wife, this took some thinking on my part. After much thought, I decided to scrap about the most important job I could ever have, being a wife.

This layout is called "Being Your Wife..." I hid the journaling behind the picture and it reads:

"I don't care what anyone says, being a wife is the hardest thing I've ever had to do! It is a full-time, 24 hr. a day, 365 days per year job. It takes ever single piece of knowledge I have to keep you happy and content. I do all that I possibly can to always make sure you are taken care of and satisfied. It can totally suck at times!!! We fight and don't always see eye to eye on things. There are times when I could just scream!!!! But, through it all, being your wife is the best job I could ever have!!!"

Here is the layout. I used some skull/crossbones fabric to sew on a funky pleat. I then added some red ribbon over that. I used a mixture of alpha's for the title. I used the Cuttlebug Butterfly Die/Embossing folder combo for my butterfly. I then added 2 'bones' to the top to form a cross and put a gem in the center. I also used a red paper doily heart, which I tore and then stapled back together. I also incorporated some stitching and lots of gems.

View of journaling pulled out from behind the pic....I used a rub-on for the part that I journaled on.

Here are some close up's:

So there it is....my first layout for Punk Rock Scrappers. I know it may not be what the challenge was intended for, but I hope it will be ok. I really had alot of fun creating this layout. I think this is going to be a really fun new blog for me to participate in. Thanks Cristal for pointing me to the blog.
As always, thanks for stopping by. Have a wondeful night!

I love this layout! I had to look twice until I realized the sculls. And what you wrote on the journaling is so honest - and trued! LOL Probably this is not what this challenge was meant to be - but you couldn´t have done it better!

Cuttlehugs,
